Stuart has the eye!!! I see now ... symmetry of the big white space is better, other option to have 2 green leaves symmetrical. but I do like this better. |

I also bought the NEWER tripod with horizontal arm when I first got the macro lens.... so I could shoot water droplets on a glass/acrylic plate. I have not mastered it. first had to weight it down. did not have sand bags then so use my overstock of pandemic 25lb flour from Costco to make my "sandbag". I have a hard time tightening the thing so that it won't move... I have never had great hand strength for tightening. so still trying to figure it out.

Bernie, a great subject with wonderful colors. my favorite parts are the hairs - the ones on top you can see where they come out of the body. I might have tried decreasing the highlights on the end of the leaf or cropping a little of it out. the out of focus leaves underneath make a wonderful soft background - I would have loved one more leaf in that left upper corner that is all white. |

Great subject Tom, I like it. My first impression is that everything looks in focus - so a great natural subject for macro. I did not see you say you stacked. details of the speckles on each seed is nice. on carol's comment about framing... I would rather not see the empty spaces at the edges on either side unless the circumference was all no seeds... or crop in so that all the seed fill the frame and did touch the edges so there was a "packed in" looked to the seeds which would seem to work for macro. |

doing all the white flowers first so you are next Stuart. I love it. wings are the most striking part.... living flying bee? it stayed in one spot long enough for you to capture - lots of detail. head being "soft" does not bother me... I see it as being in a different plane than the wings so not as in focus seems acceptable. there is detail / texture = softness of vein system throughout the leaves which is nice! leaves @left edge lean to a gray tinge vs white/yellow for rest of the leaves - might it get punched up with a little more white so there is just white and yellow tones? |

I just said on Carol's page how I think white is hard to photograph. this is the ULTIMATE WHITE... and it is also stunning. all the white is dependent on just a touch of grey to give it depth and it its shape. how it fades into the background is wonderful. are you in a light box? I like the vignettes - works for me. I have no corrections to make. all I sometime like to see is a companion shot of what exact same scene would look like at higher f-stop. I image you have more than 1 shot. if you have another to post it would be fun to see what this scene look like with for focus and what your thought were in choosing this one...just for fun. |

it is stunning to look at!!! well done!!! I think white is hard to do sometimes. splash of purple in this flower is gorgeous. I like seeing the green stem come out the back - green at both ends of the flower. I like the gold line framing the flower. I cannot see corrections to make. |
