Hi Brad, thank you for your comment. I agree with you about the circle, I wasn't completely happy with it either. I also noticed the fuzzy border, but I was a bit lazy to go back and fix it. |

Hi Alan, I hope the weather is starting to warm up for you. I lived in Australia for almost 12 years, but last year we moved back to live permanently in northern Spain, where we're originally from. So now we're in winter too, and although it's not as harsh as in the Northeast U.S., I have to say this year feels cooler than usual. Thank you for your comment,I really appreciate it. |

Hi Brad, I really like how you've blended your elements to create an interesting story. I like the desaturated colours and the placement of the surfer with the silky water, even though it creates a tension between the frozen moment and the long exposure effect. I would like to see more of the depth of the water flowing, as in my opinion it would increase the drama in the image. I played a little with your image and created a slightly different version. |

Hi Alan, parades are always a great scenario for capturing interesting shots. At first, I didn't quite understand what was happening in your image until I read your description. Focusing on the technical details of your composite, I agree that you did a fantastic job creating the canvas and integrating all the elements into the desert background. However, I would suggest revising how the elements touch the ground, as they currently look a little out of place. The shadows, on the other hand, are very well managed.
At this point, I think the fight against AI is a lost battle, and what we can do is learn to use it wisely. |

Hi Kirsti, I really love the subtle colours in this image and the almost transparent girl, which really conveys the story of dreamed memories. The poppy in the jar looks so nice, and the red complements the blue tones of the image, adding a touch of colour and visual interest.
Regarding your question to Brad, I quite agree with your club's comment, so I brought the image into Photoshop and used the transform tool to slightly adjust the visual weight of the elements, giving the girl more presence in the memory. I hope you don't mind that I experimented with it a little. |

Hi Peggy, you really have a gift for creating swirls! I like the dynamic movement and the colours that gracefully frame the little owl emerging from the bottle. I also agree with the other comments about your second version, as I find the emerging girl more appealing and better at telling the story. Lovely colours and a strong visual impact! |

Hi Dick, thank you for your comment. I agree with you that B&W reveals more detail and sharpness than colour. I don't really remember if I used manual focus for this image, but it was probably autofocus. Recently, I've set my lens so I can move the focus ring manually to refine or change the focus point, as sometimes autofocus didn't give me the desired focus. |

Hi Denise, happy New Year to you too!
As Dick pointed out, it's not common to see the underside of a water lily, and the way you've captured it reveals all the intricate details of the leaves. The beautiful light and the different shades of green complement the image wonderfully, and the centred leaf creates a strong composition. My only suggestion would be to crop a little at the top, and maybe a bit at the bottom, to avoid distractions. |

Hi Barbara, I love the way you captured this bunch of flowers, the creative zooming technique brings a fresh perspective and gives really nice results.
I also really like Denise's approach to the image; her crop and composition give it a very dynamic feel. Placing the flower in the left corner creates a diagonal visual line that invites me to explore the entire image. |

Hi Dick, such a beautiful capture of this Christmas cactus! The red tones stand out beautifully against the green background, and the shape and fine details of the flower are rendered in a way that's very appealing to my eye. The vertical frame suits the shape of the flower perfectly. The only thing that caught my eye and feels a bit distracting is the green stem at the bottom right. |

Hi Richard, you are right, crab spiders are usually very well camouflaged in the surrounding vegetation. In this case, the crab spider is yellow because the flowers around it were yellow, but I've also seen them in pink when the flowers are pink, or white when the flowers are white. They are amazing hunters! |

Hi Bruce, thank you for your lovely comment. Sometimes it's not easy to isolate those little creatures to create a clean shot, as they are often camouflaged among the vegetation, hiding from our sight. |

Hi Isaac, what a wonderful place Iceland is for photography! I like the composition of this image, where the repeating waterfalls lead us toward the mountain, all framed by a beautiful, cloud-filled sky. However, I feel the image has a strong HDR effect that makes it look a little flat. I suppose this is the result of the editing, so I brought it into Photoshop and adjusted the highlights and shadows slightly, trying to recover some of the dimensionality of the landscape. I hope you don't mind, I just wanted to explore an alternative interpretation. |

Hi Adrian, I really like gannets and had the opportunity to go on a pelagic trip last September. I returned with some nice images of them, even though the sea conditions were a little rough. I like your editing and crop, and I agree with your choice, as it gives context and a clear idea of what is really happening, the bird landing on the same spot as the other. Very well captured at the right moment, freezing the action in a beautiful pose. |

Hi Bruce, you were in the right place at the right moment! Humpback whales visit the Australian coast every spring. They migrate from Antarctica to northern Queensland, where they give birth, and then return south in autumn with their calves. For several years I have witnessed this behaviour and have sometimes been lucky enough to capture it with my camera. They are amazing to see. Good luck with your trip to Sitka! |

Hi Jerry, it is OK, and I am happy that you pointed out another way to look at the image. You are right, I would have liked to have a longer lens at that moment to capture the robin in a closer view, but as that wasn't the case, I thought the blossom tree would be a great canvas to showcase the bird in its environment. |

Hi Cindy, this bird has extraordinarily beautiful and colourful feathers that make it truly unique. You captured it beautifully, with the worm in its beak, sitting on a perch full of texture that tells us about its environment. The bird stands out nicely against the soft background. I also agree with Bruce suggestion that brings out even more detail and contrast. |

Hi Steve, in my opinion, this image of the Bald Eagle is fantastic. The pose reveals all the details of its beautiful feathers, and its intense gaze creates a strong connection with the viewer, making the bird even more engaging and striking. My only suggestion is that I find the white feathers on the head a bit dark. |

Hi Sanat, what a great natural story in this image, with the Grey Heron flying and the snake in its beak. The bird's pose is excellent, showing all the details of its wings. It stands out nicely against the blurred background, and the colour palette is lovely, perhaps a bit warm. My only critique is that on my screen the bird doesn't appear to be in very sharp focus. Apart from that, it's a fantastic image. |

Hi Bruce, great detail and a well-frozen moment of this Great Blue Heron. The light is lovely, giving it a nice glow that enhances its colours. The beautiful blue background isolates the bird perfectly. My only suggestion would be to leave a little more space on the right of the frame, giving the bird a bit more room to "fly." |
