54 Oct 25 Comment Hi Brad,
Your blending is always admirable. I love the feeling in this image, with the sparkling stars in the sky and the foggy atmosphere on the ground. The colour gradation and the different layers of vegetation are beautifully complemented by the bird and its position. The dynamic pose of the bird contrasts nicely with the calm night ambiance.

54 Oct 25 Comment Hi Kirsti,
I always admire how you recreate your images, where reality and subconscious creativity work together to create striking visuals. I like the effect of including the broken mirror, and I also appreciate how the composition forms a corner that frames the wild, beautiful greenery growing against the debris on the floor. I also like Peggy's version, the touch of green balances the other greens beautifully.

54 Oct 25 Comment Hi Matt,
What a wonderful play of colours in this image! I think it works very well, the leading lines and the blue steps guide my eyes to the blue spiral at the center of the composition. I really like this image!

54 Oct 25 Comment Hi Peggy,
I really like this month's image! The colourful trees create a joyful feeling, and the inclusion of the little elf complements the scene so well. I also love how you used the flowers to create a canopy over the trees.

65 Oct 25 Comment Hi Mark,
This image makes me feel "wow"! The intense red against the black background really creates a strong visual contrast and enhances the shapes and textures of the flower. I really like your final version with the black background and the extra light on the petals.

Thank you for your comment. I agree with you, the dew drops add the detail that makes this image truly beautiful.

65 Oct 25 Reply Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your comment. This image is the result of ten in-camera focus-stacked images, which made it possible to capture all the details from the tallest leaves to the shortest ones.

for letting me know the name of this weed. It's very common here at certain times of the year, and about a month ago it was their peak season. I'm glad that you like it.

65 Oct 25 Reply Hi David,
Thank you for your nice comment. I was walking in the field early in the morning, hoping to capture some insects with dew still on their bodies, when these plants caught my attention because of their patterns and the water drops.

65 Oct 25 Comment Hi David,
I've always loved magnolia images and have tried photographing them myself many times, but I have to admit I don't think I've ever succeeded. Your image beautifully captures the beauty and delicacy of this flower, and isolating it from the background makes it stand out. I also love how the central petals create a kind of "door" that draws the viewer into the centre of the flower.

65 Oct 25 Comment Hi Denise, welcome to the group!
I like the centred composition of this image and the beautiful color contrast. The flower is perfectly captured, and your use of depth of field reveals all the shapes and details. I also agree that a closer crop would enhance the flower even more.

65 Oct 25 Comment Stunning image, Barbara!
The delicacy and beauty of the dahlia stand out wonderfully against the black background, and the soft lighting enhances all the textures and patterns of the flower. Great image!

Great shot showing the interaction between these two bears! The image showcases not only their behaviour but also the environment, and the bears stand out nicely thanks to the contrasting colours. Nicely captured, a really great shot!

72 Oct 25 Comment Hi Adrian,
The baby is really small, it must be almost newly born! Lovely shot that beautifully showcases the tender moment of a mum feeding its chick, and you've enhanced the scene nicely with your cropping.

72 Oct 25 Comment Hi Maria,
What a lovely moment of interaction between the mum and calf! You did well in the edit, removing distracting elements. However, as Richard pointed out, I think the clone tool caused some disruption in the calf's ear. Apart from that, it's a wonderful image.

72 Oct 25 Comment Hi Richard,
The pano technique isn't easy, even with traditional subjects, and it's definitely a very difficult task with flying birds! You made a great attempt, and as with other techniques, practice makes perfect. You're on the right path, but you might need to find the most favourable settings to get the best results. Great job trying something different!

72 Oct 25 Comment Hi Karen,
I have a similar wren here in the north of Spain, we call it Chochín, and it always makes my day when I spot one. They're great singers and move constantly. I love the detail in your image and the subtle colours. I also agree with the suggestion to remove the green leaves, as they compete with the bird for attention.

72 Oct 25 Reply Hi Adrian,
Thanks for your comment. The R6 has a focus stacking option in its menu, where you can choose the number of shots and the interval between them. I usually use ten shots with an interval of 4, and if the conditions are good, you can get all the details in sharp focus. However, if there's any movement, the focus stacking doesn't work at all.

72 Oct 25 Reply Hi Karen,
Thank you for your nice comment. I used to have a steadier hand and a sharper eye than I do now, but I can still manage to get some good shots when the conditions are favourable.

72 Oct 25 Reply Hi Isaac,
You're right, I have quite a collection of flies in my folders! It's easy for me to walk around the grasses and find them; the real challenge is finding a calm day. Since I live close to the sea, the wind is blowing most days, moving the grasses too much for macro shots. In this image, all the conditions were favourable, allowing me to capture maximum detail using in-camera focus stacking.

72 Oct 25 Comment Hi Bruce,
What a lovely capture of this pair of cubs! The vignette helps focus attention on the little foxes, and their behaviour adds great interest to the image. My only regret is that it isn't mine!

91 Oct 25 Comment Hi Cindy,
The Bee-eaters are such beautiful birds - they're absolutely stunning! You've captured this one beautifully, with a lovely bokeh, and the added bonus of the bird holding its catch in its beak. The colours are wonderful, and the eye catchlight is lovely.

91 Oct 25 Comment Hi Jerry,
Thank you for your nice comment. I definitely paid attention to the different tonalities of grey. It wasn't an easy shot due to the movement of the boat and the bird's fast flight. I was totally out of my comfort zone taking this photo from a boat in the open sea!

91 Oct 25 Comment Hi Adrian,
You're right, it's a Great Egret in the breeding season. That's when the green on the head becomes more accentuated, and this is reinforced by the fact that it's carrying nesting material. You did a great job in the edit, enhancing the bird and highlighting its features beautifully.

91 Oct 25 Comment Hi Steve,
You captured this couple beautifully! They may have been in the early stages of courtship, as you can see them facing each other with their heads in a reverent position. I agree that the whites have a slight blue cast and the greens might be a bit saturated. I'd also suggest cropping a little from the top of the image, as the yellow patch in the vegetation draws the viewer's attention.

91 Oct 25 Comment Hi Sanat,
I'm always amazed by the flying skills of these birds - they're so fast and erratic that it's quite a challenge for me to capture them in flight! You did a great job in the edit, enhancing the image to reveal all its beauty. I also like the proud pose of the bird.

91 Oct 25 Comment Hi Bruce,
What a wonderful bird with those beautiful blue feathers! I really like the bird's pose and the catchlight in the eye - it creates a lovely sense of engagement with the viewer. I think Jerry's suggestions could further enhance the visual impact and highlight the beauty of this bird even more. The detail is excellent!

91 Oct 25 Comment Hi Jerry,
What a beautiful colour this spoonbill has! I used to watch spoonbills in Sydney and loved observing their movements as they searched for food - they are incredible birds. I like how you enhanced the original photo in the edit; the inverted image and the crop really make a difference. I also love the golden tones in the water!
