Hi Marilyn,
These are such beautiful birds, and the rosella variety is even more striking with its pink colour. You've captured the bird wonderfully as it flies across the frame. You crop works well removing distractions from the background and focusing all the attention on the bird. The focus and the level of detail are fantastic and the contrast in colours futher elevates the scene.

Hi Xiao,
As Ted mentioned, it is a beautiful bird, I haven't had the opportunity to see it myself, as it is not a native to Australia or Spain. You crop enhances the bird and makes it prominent in the frame, and your editing complements it perfectly. The composition and the bird's pose create a strong visual engagement with the viewer, resulting in a very pleasing image.

Hi Deborah,
I like this fellow, I am always fascinated by the character of these birds. you captured it under strong lighting conditions, but you managed it well. The bird is sharp, and the detail is excellent.
I took the image into photoshop, duplicated the layer, and made a selection of the rocks under the feet.I then placed it over the white tail. Since it didn't cover all the white area, I created a blank layer and used the clone tool to fill in the remaining white spots. After that, I adjusted the light slightly to reduce the glare on the water, giving the image more depth.

Hi Ted, I relly like the dynamic composition of this image. The bird entering the frame creates a strong diagonal line, and you have captured the perfect moment as it opens its wings. This movement is complemented by the other diagonal line that crossing the frame, forming an X. The level of detail is hight and the light is well managed.
My only suggestion would be to slightly reduce the sharpness, as it introduces a slightly unnatural look to the bird.

Hi Alan, thanks for sharing your thoughts whit me. When I first saw this barn man in the window, I just knew that he would make a great main character in a composite image.
I recently found him in one of my folders, so I decided to bring him some of live.

Hi Bruce,
what a wonderful image you have created! I really like the tonality and how the girl and the animals work together, they truly seem to belong the mountain. The addition of clouds and fog has created an atmospheric effect, providing just enough separation between the foreground and background. I agree with Alan about anchoring the girl to the mountain. Everything works well in this image, the colours, the setting, the body language, all come together to create a strong narrative.

HI Brad,
This image creates a strong emotional impact on the viewer. Seeing the woman weaving in the railway tunnel with the gosthly train so close to her evokes a sense the of danger, yet her calm and focused demeanor creates a striking emotional contrast. The composition works well, framing the woman and leading the eye to the train, while the contrast in colours adds depth to the narrative. Well done!

Hi Alan, I agree with the previous comments, this is an intriguing image that works really well because of the colour contrast and the strong composition. The addition of the cubes adds a surrealistic touch to the story. The blue clouds provide the perfect background to make the monk stand out, with the red of his clothes creating a striking contrast, while the light tones of the houses and floor contribute to the ambiance of the scene. I personally prefer your crop, and I think Peggy is right in pointing out the importance the shadows direction.

Hi Kirsti,
You have created a powerful image. The light radiating from the ball and the family gathered close and silent, watching the spectacle, evoque a story of the beginnings of humanity, sitting around the fire at night. I like the suggestions from Aavo and Peggy, they really enhance the image's impact. Thanks for your detailed explanation of how you placed the colour in the image, it works very well. I'm inspired to try this technique myself and see if I can achive such great results. |

Hi Aavo,
Your image truly conveys a story. The expressions of the old and yound ladies are precious and draw the viewer in to explore what's happening. I like the flip of the image that kirsti suggested, as Peggy mentioned, it creates more room for the sun. I also agree about darkening the background slightly. A part of that, I find that the placement of the girls in the foreground works well, and the leading line of the wave and trees directs the eye to the sun. Well done!

Hi Peggy, what a joyful image! I really like how this image creates a visual flow from top to bottom. The gradient colours in the background and the colorful slide create the perfect setting for the little teddies. Their poses are so natural that it really feels like they are descending quickly down the slide. Well done!

Hi Shirley, I am impressed by the feeling this image evokes. It reminds me of older photographs. I am not sure if you achieved this look in camera or through editing, but either way, the image has a beautiful, nostalgic quality. The triangular composition stands out agains the background and is perfectly complemented by the frame. Well done!

Hi David, sunflowers are always a very photogenic, and finding a sunflower field must feel like a treasure trove of opportunities for composition and creativity. You've captured this field of flowers beautifully, with a nice contrast against the sky that enhances the colour and detail of the flowers. It would be nice to have at least one flower fancing the camera to complete the image.

Hi Esther, capturing flowers on a sunny day is always challenging. Your flower stands out well from the background, and the composition is good, However, I find that the leaf behind the flower, is to bright drawing too much attention away from the flower. In your other image, the leaf frames the flower nicely without competing with it.

Hi Barbara, The Daylily stands out beautifully agains the black background, and the lateral light from the flash enhances the flower's colour shape. You might consider playing with the luminosity on the flower, brightening certain areas and darkening those that are less important. Beautiful capture! |

Hi Dick, you captured this daylily beautifully. The flower is full of detail and perfectly in focus. The background doesn't interfere with the flower, and the colours complement the image well. I agree with David about the background colour consistency. The filter you used gives the image a unique look.

Hi Barbara, thank you for your comment and suggestions. I will crop it slightly to remove the partial flower at the bottom. You can still see these moths in some areas of the Europe, but unfortunately due the pesticides and the extensive agriculture, they are becoming less and less common. This was captured on the cliffs of the Northern coastline in Spain, where you can still find wildflowers and more insect presence in the Spring and Summer.

Hi Isaac, I can see your intention of including the entire group with this panoramic presentation. However, as Bruce mentioned the panoramic format has made the image appear small on the screen, which doesn't allow us to fully admire the great detail of the group of hippos and the cattle egrets. It might be better to focus on a smaller group and zoom in to better appreciate the detail. Otherwise, the light is nice, and the water colour creates a pleasant contrast and separation from the group of hippos, making them stand out in the composition.

Hi Adrian, great capture of this Humpback whale tail! We are fortunate here in Sydney to be along their migration, route North, where they go to give birth to their offsprings. We can have some encounters with them from May to October, as they return South to the cooler waters. The quality of your image is impressive, even after so massive crop. The crop was well done, as it helps focus attention on the water splash and the bird. Lovely image!

Hi Barbara, Nice capture of this Cooper's Hawk! You have captured it in a clear pose that really highlights the clarity and colour of its eye. The bird's posture and the soft colours work well to complement the image. The background is a bit busy, but with the branches so close, it's understandably difficult to isolate the bird from them. I like bruce's crop it helps focus the attention more on the bird. |

Hi Chris, what an interesting wasp and story!. I have never seen one like it before. You have managed to capture the wasp in pin-sharp focus, while the nicely blurred background creates good separation. However, the foreground flower is out of focus, which draws my attention. It would have been great to have a bit more of detail in those flowers as well. |

Hi Bruce, you have captured a nice interaction between the Bison and the bird. The colours and light are beautiful, and the fact that the bird is capture agains to the water makes it stand out . My only suggestion is to reduce the amount of sharpen a bit, as it has introduced some artefacts in certain areas of the water.
