Hi Marilyn, thank you for your suggestion. I was playing with the crop and finalize with this that I like more, as the branches frame the bird and balance the image |

Hi Ted, thanks for your comment, it was the first time I saw this bird. It is a small with a beautiful song, and I guess, like all little birds, it is very fast.

Hi Marilyn, you have captured this osprey beautifully as it lands at the nest. The nest material adds to the story of the image, and the bird contrasts beautifully agains the blue sky. This is a great capture!

Hi Xiao, this is the first time I've seen this beautiful bird. You have enhanced the image nicely by flipping the bird and lightening the greens. The bird is sharp, and the pose add a dynamic point to the image. Great capture!

Hi Ted, nice capture of this double-crested cormorant. You photographed it from a distance and cropped the image significantly, which created a more interesting composition by focusing attention solely on the cormorant and its pose.

Hi Lisa, Ospreys are one of my favourite subjects to shoot. They are so good at fishing! You captured the osprey with a nice wings position and good separation from the background, the eye is pin sharp too. Nice capture!

Hi Alan, I like the surrealism in this composition. The women walking over the umbrellas that create a path of rainbow colours, while the minimalistic background, with nothing to distract or provide additional information, results in a very minimalistic image. The shadows on the lower level add another point of interest and complement the image. I agree with you about reality, when I compose an image, I am rarely looking to create a real scene.

Hi Kirsti, what an interesting image you have created! I love the composition with the girl dominating the sunset. The colours are striking and beautiful, with warm tones complemented by the cooler ones. I've enjoyed the discussion and the evolution of the image. I agree with all the suggestions, and I feel that Bruce's latest version is getting close to perfection.

Hi Peggy, what a beautiful scene! The way that the swan is looking at its cygnets warm the cold scene. I like the he soft tonality and the texture on the window. I agree with Brad about to make the swans more prominent. My only suggestion is about the pink and blue hues that appear in some areas of the background, I would remove it as I find it distracting. Beautiful image!

Hi Diana, thank you for your comment. The is a beautiful wild orchid with a unique shape, and it's not easy to find due to
its limited numbers. I also like the good suggestions from the group on how to improve the image.

Hi DIck, many thanks for your tip. I should use the tripod more for my shots because it would deliver better results, allowing me to to take longer exposures and use smaller apertures, which will improve my depth of field.

Hi Shirley, Lovely bunch of almond blossoms! I like the composition and the dew drops. The filter you applied gives a painterly look to your image. I suggest reducing the amount of the filter slightly and applying a different texture to the background to create more separation and contrast with the flowers

Hi Shirley, thank you for your suggestions and comments. I also wished to have had a bit more of DOF, but it was a compromise between the shutter speed and the aperture.

Hi Esther, this is a wild orchid that grows and blossom in Spain for a short time in spring. It is not easy to get a good DOF due to its shape, and it often grows among vegetation, making it difficult to isolate from the background.

Hi Esther,
White flowers are always difficult to get in full detail as it blown very easily. I have to agree with the other comments about the original 2 that shows the tiny white flower in its environment. |

Hi Diana, you have captured this Protea in a great detail. Placing it agains a plain background enhances the flower and creates a good separation. I would choose a more muted tonality for the background to resemble a botanical illustration, but it is just my personal opinion. Otherwise it is a beautiful image.

Hi Barbara, the placement of the carnation flower against the dark background creates a very nice contrast and enhances the intricate shape of the flower. I agree with the other comments about the amount of light in some petals, the use of a diffuser could have helped balance the light in those areas. |

Hi Heather, I am glad you like the image. I took different compositions, but I presented this one because I also like the way that the grass curves in the frame.

Hi Isaac, great capture of that group of elephants enjoying their drink by the river. The image is almost divided in two, with the elephants placed in the middle in a diagonal line that guides the viewer along the group. There's great detail in their fur, and it was lucky to catch the moment with the crocodrile there too. |

Hi Adrian, you captured this monkeys in a moment of engagement with you and even thought they are far away, you managed to keep them sharp with a good detail in their fur. I like the contrast in colour between the red monkeys and the green leaves. You framed them well. Nice image.

Hi Chris, As Isaac has pointed out, you have managed the illumination very well in this beautiful landscape. The log creates a visual point of interest in the foreground and guides the viewer into the landscape, which is topped off with the high peaks of the mountains. Great detail, nice light and excellent composition.
