Hi Marilyn,
You really did very well capturing this couple in the nest. The wing positions create a very dinamic image, and the fact that the other osprey is peeking out add another layer of interest to the image. The detail and light are fine, and the birds are pin-sharp. My only suggestion would be to consider desaturating the blue sky a little.

HI Xiao,
You captured this Brown Creeper beautifully. I especially like where the bird is located as it isolate it perfectly from the background. Having it on the trunk could have camouflaged it, and it wouldn't have been presented as well. The colours are pleasant, and the bird and the trunk match together nicely.
My only suggestion would be to could consider giving a little more room at the top and a little less at the bottom, creating a less centered composition.

Hi Sylvia,
Nice capture of the two birds, I suppose that the Egret is waiting for an opportunity in case the Heron loses its prey. You did well giving enough room to the right, which is the direction where the two birds are heading. It is not easy to create a good separation between the birds and the grasses in edition I would suggest trying the lowest point of view next time, it creates better separation with the background blurring naturally in camera.

Hi Ted,
I totally agree with you, watching this birds and their fishing techniques is something that always amazes me.You really did a great job getting the Great blue heron pin-sharp Unfourtunately, the background is a little busy, but at the same time, it gives us information about its environment, and the branches are behind the bird, so they aren't obstructing its view.

Hi Lisa,
You have done a great job isolating the Osprey from the background. By removing the distracting elements, you have elevate this image and enhanced the visual impact by placing the osprey agains a dark background. I specially like the water droplets leaking from the fish.

Hi Bruce,
Welcome to the group! Congratulations in this image.
I believed you have mastered the placement of elements, creating a very realistic composition. The Jack with its knife in the foreground, turning his gaze toward the girl in the background, creates a powerful narrative and visually dynamic scene. The tonality and the lighting are very well managed. My only suggestion is to consider warming the light and possibly darkening a little the right side of Jack's face since the light is coming from the left. This adjustment could significantly alter the mood of the scene.

Hi Brad, I really like the feeling that this image conveys. The two friends around the fire and the rising moon on the horizon create a very appealing image. I appreciate the way that you blend the blues with the warm yellows, it works very well. I like the kirsti version that concentrate the attention in the two men, the fire and the moon.

Hi Alan, You have created a very strong image in two ways: visually and emotionally.Your tone mapping and the placement of the elements create a intense feeling of despair, with the woman turning her back to the baby and the sad look towards the man passing by.This image showcases the destruction and emptiness of these people's lives. I agree with Kirsti's suggestion about a lighter sky.

Hi Kirsti,
What a lovely scene with the crane surrounded by this halo and the feeling of haze in the early morning. I've been exploring different cropping options and compositions and I have to say that maybe the last one is the one that I like most. I find that the composition and story are more complete. I like the feeling of early morning that you have achieved in the image, but considering that the light is coming from the front, I would suggest lowering the light a little on the dune as it should be a darken area due the light coming from the other side.

Hi Peggy,
I love this pastel tones in your image, and the placement of the seagull is drawing attention in this wonderful sky. I totally agree with Bruce's treatment of the shadow of the seagull, it gives it a more natural look. I am not sure if I like the colour in the sand area. The golden tonality is broken with patches of blues which I find a little distracting. However, I like the texture and patterns in the sand very much.

Hi David,
The combination of colours in this image makes it very pleasant to see.The water droplet is exquisitely sharp, and the little creatures add to the overall impact of the photo. There is very nice lighting all over the image. I agree with Dick about removing the blurred bud in the lover part and the dark line at the top. Beautiful image!

Hi Esther, what makes this image special is the blacklight effect and the warm tones that create this captivating interplay of colour and light. Although, the background is a bit noisy, it complements the overall scene beautifully. I also prefer the flipped version.

Hi Barbara, you have captured the essence of spring beautifully in this image, with the buds just about to bloom. I agree with Dick's suggestion to focus more on the buds themselves to create a stronger image. Personally,I prefer the natural look of the flower without the warm filter. I find it a bit too intense, but if you like it, I would suggest reducing the opacity or selectively brushing it away from the flower's buds.

Hi Dick, this is the first time I've seen a dogwood flower, and it is truly beautiful. You've mastered the focus and the lighting, complementing it nicely with a background that naturally introduces two tonalities. The flower is also well framed by the leaves, creating a contrast in colours that enhances the image.

Hi Isaac, you really captured this softshell turtle's nose at a very good angle, enhancing the features of this animal. There is an engaging connection with the eyes and very sharp details on the turtle's head. My only suggestion is to reduce the noise to create a cleaner image.

Hi Adrian, You surely enjoyed your cruise, seeing all the wildlife around. Great capture of these dolphins jumping, the calm seas and the good weather were the perfect ingredients to make this image possible. I like your final image that concentrates the attention on the Dolphings, but looking the original, I also like the splash of water. In my opinion, including it in your composition could create a more dinamic image.

Hi Leah, You captured this Iris nicely despite the busy surroundings. The blurry background helps to isolate the flower, but the table and the other stem are distracting my attention from the flower. Otherwise, the light and the depth of field are well managed. I am not an expert on focus stacking, so I can help you with that, but in my opinion no always does the flower have to be sharp from front to back
it all depends on the composition. A very soft image with only a small area in focus could be very pleasant to see.

Hi Barbara, what a cute fellow! I love his full cheecks. This is a nice capture of this rodent, which seems very busy keeping its mouth full of food. You did a good job in editing, removing most of the empty space and focusing on the little animal. I agree with Isaac that a tighter crop would create a stronger visual image, concentrating on the animal's face.

Hi Bruce, you have capture this Cara Cara in a great way. The eye level point of view enhances the image and the nicely blurry background complements it well. The focus on the eye is very sharp, and the soft lighting reveals all the feather details. Nice image !
