46 Apr 24 Reply Hi Xiao, thank your for your comment and suggestions.I agree with you. Apr 28th
46 Apr 24 Comment Hi Marilyn, it's my firts time seeing this bird. The level of detail and sharpness is impressive, and I appreciate the nice separation from the background and the colour tones in the image. You did well with the crop, though adding a little more space in the right side could enhance the overall composition

46 Apr 24 Comment Hi Xiao, you have captured this bird in its environment in a nice singing pose. You have done well with the crop, which enhances the composition and makes the bird more prominent in the frame. the colour tones in the image work well, creating a nice soft palette.

46 Apr 24 Comment Hi Sylvia, you have captured a lovely image here. The early light add dimension and interest to the scene. The crop really frames the Swan, creating a more appealing composition.

46 Apr 24 Comment Hi Jack, what an interesting story behind of this image. It is saddening that despite all their dedication, they won't become parents. The image is sharp, and you have done well to capture the movement of the wings, adding interest and dynamism to the scene. I can feel the crane's worries as it looks the egg, perhaps wondering why there is no crack or chick emerging.
Apr 19th
46 Apr 24 Reply Hi Isaac, you are correct about the water drops, they are the result of the bird's rapid movement as it caught the small crab.

Apr 19th
46 Apr 24 Reply Hi Marilyn, thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it. Apr 19th
46 Apr 24 Reply Hi Ted, I captured this image in a rainy day, but the drops that you mentioned are actually the result of the moment when it caught a small crab. I enjoy taking low angle shots, because they offer a different perspective, clean up the background and create a more visual engaging connection with the subject. Thank you for the comment.

46 Apr 24 Comment Hi Ted, this is a pleasand image of a Canada Goose. You have centred it in the frame, making it the main point of attention. The amount of detail and the catchlight in the Goose's eye complement the image nicely.

46 Apr 24 Comment Hi Lisa, this is a great capture. It has a big visual impact whit a fantastic composition. The wings' position and the osprey entering in the frame while making visual contact with the photographer, along whit the water splat, created a very dynamic image.
You did well in editing by removing distractions in the background, it enhances the image.

54 Apr 24 Reply Hi Peggy, thank you for your nice comment and suggestions. I have now the same problem I see the crocodile reflection as a its lower jaw and I agree also about the white tree I will consider to darkening it. Apr 28th
54 Apr 24 Reply Hi Brad, thank you for your comment. As you mentioned, the crocodile is indeed an element that shifts the message from idyllic to dangerous place.

54 Apr 24 Reply Thanks Aavo for your nice comment, I really appreciate it. Apr 19th
54 Apr 24 Reply Hi Alan, thank you for your valuable suggestions. I really appreciate what you have done with the crop. It focuses more attention on the children and the landscape.

Apr 19th
54 Apr 24 Reply Hi Kirsti, thank you for your comment and suggestion. I agree with you regarding the skin tone of the girl, which seems to blend in with the grasses. I can see how the reflection of the crocodile resembles a lower jaw.

54 Apr 24 Comment Hi Brad, your image is truly worth explore to find the fine details. I appreciate the leading lines of the road that guide you directly to the milky way. I am not sure if it was your intention, but I find that the road appears suspended in the air, which adds an intriguing element to the composition. However, I noticed that the amount of luminosity in the foreground and in the road is a bit excessive, detracting from the focus on the distant horizon. I took the liberty of playing around with your image, reducing the luminosity and adding a little more contrast to the middle tones which makes the milky way appear more crisp. Additionally, I used the transform tool to slightly lower the road. As you mentioned, it is a work in progress.

54 Apr 24 Comment Hi Alan, you have masterfully compose this image. I admire how you've depicted the chessboard floating in this neutral landscape devoid of vegetation, with the man elegantly seated in a world where the king has fallen and the queen supports him. The composition is excellent, and the chosen elements work together perfectly to create this image. The shadow add
depth and dimensionality to the scene.

54 Apr 24 Comment Hi Kirsti, you have crafted a beautiful image ! I like how the white bear looks almost transparent yet maintains its imposing presence. The girl's expression adds depth to the story as well. Converting the image to black and white was definitely the right decision, it presents rich tonality and contrast. I also agree with Alan's suggestion regarding the brown bear and the crop.

Apr 19th
54 Apr 24 Comment Hi Aavo, I really enjoy this scene! The image of the giraffe strolling through the village, indulging in the flowers from the balcony, and the goat eagerly seeking a fresh and juicy meal is also delightful. I agree with the other suggestions regarding cloning some of the yellow sing and the patches on the door.

54 Apr 24 Comment Hi Peggy, You have captured the essence of the myth in your image in a powerful way. The cold tones contrast beautifully with the warm light, and the ghost stands out with its delicacy and transparency. The stones create a visual path to walk within the image, while the trees on the horizon frame the entire scene. I agree with Kirsti's suggestion about the light on the grass. Overall, you have done a wonderful work in this image.

65 Apr 24 Reply Hi Barbara, thank you for your nice comment. This plant is considered a pest here in Australia despite its beauty, it can be very messy for a garden.

Apr 17th
65 Apr 24 Reply Hi Dic, thank you for your nice comment. As I said to David, achieving the nice background was the easy part since it was very far away.

Apr 17th
65 Apr 24 Reply Hi David, and welcome again to the group. I usually keep my apertures very wide open because I like the bokeh it creates in the background and to allow as much light as possible. However, this often results in a very shallow depth of field. In this image, I pushed myself to get as much detail as possible in a sharp focus. The background was far away, which made it very easy to achieve the nice blur.
Apr 17th
65 Apr 24 Comment Hi David, and welcome to the group. You have create a very appealing image with vibrant colour and softly faded greens that nicely frame and separate the flower from the background. I really appreciate all the information about focus stacking that you and Dick provided. Focus stacking is something that is very useful to learn how to do properly. I bought a microrail and some lights that you can direct on your subjects some time ago, but I haven't found the time and inspiration to properly start working with it.

65 Apr 24 Comment Hi Esther, and welcome to the group! I really appreciate the detail and sharpness in your image, it is nicely presented. The inclusion of the butterfly creates a fight for attention, and perhaps you have to decide which one is the main subject. For a Butterfly hero, I totally agree with Isaac's suggestion to make the Buttlerfly the main subject of the image. However, if your intention was captured the beauty of the Viburnum, them the story is totally different, and you did well presenting your flower more prominently.
Apr 17th
65 Apr 24 Comment Hi Diana, what a beautiful flower and capture! Your rendition of this Mum is exquisite. The soft pink tonality works really well complemented by the subtle texture in the background. The composition enhances the detail of the flower's petals and stem, whitch stand out agains the soft green. Your editing complements the image very well.

Apr 17th
65 Apr 24 Comment Hi Barbara, you have managed the light in an exquisite way, creating a very appealing image. I really appreciate how the light illuminates the tulip, making it flare like it's on fire. The suggestion about cropping to create a tighter composition works very well. I really like this image with the shuttle tonality and detail that frames the reds and yellows of the flower perfectly.

Apr 17th
65 Apr 24 Comment Hi Dick, this plant is totally unknown to me, it is the first time that I've seen it. I really appreciate all the detail and sharpness in the the image, it's very pleasant to look at. The shades of green and the nice blurred background make this image very appealing. I agree with the suggestion of adding more room at the top of the image

72 Apr 24 Reply Hi Leah, thank you for your comment, I am very happy that you like this image. Apr 28th
72 Apr 24 Comment Hi Isaac, your image has captured the harsh reality of nature, showcasing the law of the strong and the battle for survival in their environment. The image is sharp, and the detail is fine, with good separation with the background and strong emotional and visual impact.
Apr 17th
72 Apr 24 Comment Hi Adrian, what a great capture! it is a pity that the bird was so far away because the moment is fantastic and something you don't see so often. Despite the large crop, you have managed to retain most of its detail, and the quality is nice enough to have it as a good record.
Apr 17th
72 Apr 24 Comment Hi Leah, we have wild turkeys here in Australia but their features are simpler compared to those in USA. The two fellow are imposing themselves with all their feathers displayed. I like the fact that both have the same pose and looking in the same direction, it is almost a replica of one to other.
I agree with the other suggestions about the tight crop, I would like to see a bit more of space around these two.The light is a bit harsh too.

Apr 17th
72 Apr 24 Comment Hi Barbara, I shot some images of this bird when I visited my daughter in NC last Christmas. It is a lovely bird, new for me.
The colours and the tight crop suit the image, and the bird is sharp, engaging the viewer visually. I also agree with the other suggestions about the crop

Apr 17th
72 Apr 24 Reply Hi Isaac, thank for your comment and suggestion. As I said, crooping so tight always made me afraid of the amount of pixels lost, but I appreciate the way that the subject stands out, creating a stronger image.

Apr 17th
72 Apr 24 Reply Hi Adrian, thank you for your comment. I agree that a tight crop really emphatizes the grasshopper, but I also appreciate including the environment surrounding it.

Apr 17th
72 Apr 24 Reply Hi Bruce, thank you for your suggestion. It really brings focus to the grasshoper. I am always a bit hesitant about making significant crops in my images.

Apr 17th
72 Apr 24 Comment
Certainly! Here's the corrected version:

Hi Bruce, great capture of these pronghorns, my first time seeing them. The image is nicely composed, and the amount of detail and sharpness is fantastic. I really like the catchlight in their eyes and the juxtaposition of them in the pose. Well done!
