I figured they were the Salt River Horses. I never had a chance to see them, darn. |

Somehow, I removed the image from Fran. I'm not sure how; sorry. |

This works well in B&W because there is little color except for the sky. The rocks have great detail, and there are water areas that add depth. For me, the pano effect works, and the placement of the person is very good.
Overall, it is a bit too dark, and the person blends in with the background. I would add some light to the person. I would also add some light to the water areas. Finally, I would adjust the sky by raising the highlights and lowering the shadows. All of which will add depth and contrast. See what you think |

The conversion brings out more detail, which is a good thing. It is very busy, but the business gives it a feel of strength/power.
Other than the steam/smoke, it is flat. Some selective adjustments could be used to bring out more depth. I used the Masking tool in Lightroom to brush over a few areas to lighten them at different amounts. Let me know what you think. |

The shadows add to the story here, providing contrast and interest to the image. Shooting from way in front of the boat pulls the eye in and provides impact when viewing the boat. The conversion adds some detail to the sky, which is a plus. Removing the other boat, not mentioned, was a good choice.
I think the border is a little too wide and tends to overtake the image. |

The conversion works well. It removes the harsh background and provides a friendly/tender feel between the two horses; love is in the air. The Coffee color is a good choice for the subjects.
Not sure what was used to change the background, but if you use Lightroom, you can use the Masking tool to select the background and make adjustments without using a brush. I see artifacts where cloning or adjustments were made, maybe with a brush tool. Looks a little unnatural. With the Mask tool, select the background and then lower the Texture and Clarity; that will blur the entire background evenly. |
