39 Aug 24 Comment I know, it's odd, but Joey reminds me of some uncles I had years ago, they lived on a farm and many times would have a stick or toothpick in thier mouth after lunch or dinner. Joey looks very content as if after a nice meal and sitting and contemplating things. The conversion to B&W is very good and the sharpness of the facial area and catchlights in the eyes, pull the viewer right where you want them.

I agree with Fran on the background, it is a little distracting.

Glad to have you in our group.

39 Aug 24 Comment The lighting is great creating light and shadow which combines the two into one in the shadows and then separates them in the highlights. The arms, faces and her feet all create strong symmetry and pull the viewer in. A very strong image, competition worthy. Aug 16th
39 Aug 24 Comment Strong interest and impact in the this image. Even though it is a bit busy all the pieces fit well and add to the story. I prefer the color version as I don't see all the elements as clearly in the B&W version. On the otherhand, I think if some contrast were added to the B&W version it would make all the elements stand out more. Very enjoyable image. Aug 16th
39 Aug 24 Comment This is one IR that I enjoy seeing, not usually a fan, The composition is excellent and brings the eye to the payoff, the shed, and then around the rest of the image. I agree with the rest of the comments here. Consider for competition if you are competing. Aug 16th
39 Aug 24 Comment The B&W version works well, the interaction with camera and bear is very good and there are catch lights in the eyes that pull the viewer.

As mentioned by others, I might bring down the highlights a bit. Good catch.

39 Aug 24 Comment Very strong image, I like the smoky effect in the background. The conversion to B&W works well for the subject, although the color version also works well for the subject. Looking at the non cropped original I would not have seen the converted one.

Two things I might suggest, add a thin stroke around the image, it will stand out more from the black background, and maybe the smoke effect could go all the way to the bottom, it appears to stop about three quarters of the way down. It is such a nice effect.
