The flies show better in the highkey but I prefer the other, especially because the sky tends to blend more with the subject. It also has a softer feel causing more empathy for the lion. The lion shows a rough life and the flies show enough to help the story. I feel for this poor thing.
I would only liked to have the full lion in the image, the crop tends to pull the eye out of the image on the right. |

Very strong B&W, the conversion works well to bring out the church compared to the color. I like the angle of the shot, looks like you were standing a bit above. The tones and contrast brings out good detail. The clouds add drama to the subject and the makes the church stand strong against all odds.
I agree to not crop the bottom but clean up the bottom left corner. |

A strong image with good impact and interest. The tones and details are sharp and work well with the subject. I am a fan of the B&W version. Don's version works well also, however I prefer the darker version, I think it gives it more impact. Great subject. |

I agree with the others, the color works better to show everything, the B&W appears a bit blown out. Not sure if it is the subject or the quality of the image as they both have a vintage look. |

The B&W is very strong and the blanket really adds to the overall story. The tones, contrast and details are great. Catch lights in the eyes pull the viewer in to her and then to the rest of the image. She is very stately and shows strength. Very well done. I prefer the landscape version, it tells more about her.
I had a couple occasions to shoot Suzie Yazzie in her hogan in Monument Valley and after she passed I photographed her daughter Effie in the same hogan, it's an experience never to be forgotten. |

I used one studio light pretty much straight at her. |
