My pick is the B&W also, very strong. Great tones and depth created by the shadow and light from the many shapes in the subject. The reflection is an added bonus. The open space on the right gives the subject room to move even though it is not moving, it adds some tension and impact.
Very well done. |

The rim lighting works great on the right side of the bear and through the water all of which make this a strong image with great action. As for the gull, if the bear were heading its way it might work as part of the story, as is I think it detracts.
Wonder also if more detail can be pulled out from the bear on its left side, it is a bit of a black hole. Would not take much, just a bot of detail.
Great catch. |

Wow, hard to not stare, the subject catches the eye and keeps it there. The catch light works, could be a little brighter. The eye looks sharp and the lashes and brow have good detail.
I think Pauls example is closer to giving the subject depth and still keeping the compelling look of the subject. |

A great street shot and I like the dog looking at you like "don't even try". The lines created by the rail sidewalk and wall work well as reverse leading lines bringing the viewer to the subjects.
I agree with the comments about the left side, the dark blu is distracting. Cropping would not lesson the image but make it stronger. |

An interesting shot with an interesting subject. I have had opportunity with this type subject when living in AZ and tried for the same tongue action. There is good detail in the head and leg and it is looking at the phone.
The light on its head is a bit bright and the plant and item on the right are distracting. I agree on the DOF as the tongue appears blurred, or maybe it was moving. |

Great shot and processing on this. I like the sepia tone, it gives it a warmth that straight B&W would not do. The subjects are tack sharp and their interaction together or lack by the mother is exceptional. The work on the background makes the subjects stand out stronger. A winner.
Could swear I have seen these or similar before. |
