Great shot, must have been fun and a bit scary to be so close. There is great detail in the bear and the water. A very nice wildlife action shot.
I would bring out the bear a little more from the water and background as they tend to blend some. If you use Lightroom, try the masking tool and use Select Subject. It worked well when I tried it. I added contrast and lowered the whites and blacks. It is subtle but brings the bear out a little more. |

If you are looking for strong repeating patterns, look no further. It can also represent a closeup of a space station or looking through a kaleidoscope. For me it holds my attention and my imagination runs through the possibilities. I also like all the many shades of light and tones. The only adjustment I see is the bottom right column is darker than the others, this tends to throw the balance off some. |

A great story with the regal statue looking down at a peasant and wondering what he is doing and why he is ignoring her. They are in different worlds.
The lighting on the statue really pulls the viewer, rightly so, and then we see the lad on the phone. I wonder if a little more light or contrast on the lad would give him a bit more emphasis? |

Well done, the lighting really makes it work well. Good detail and DOF. It should work well for the church. |

I think it works well as a B&W, better than the color. The story is great and the photo backs ups the photo well. I like the shadow reflections, they could represent the fallen.
Only thing I see is the crop is a bit tight on both the left and right. |

Very unique and a strong subject and composition. The lighting, tones, details and the edging all work well. This could be a great entry in a Monochrome category. Very well done Ken. |

Thanks Kathryn, the crop from the bottom is a good idea. The gray tint probably comes from using a dark sepia tone which in this case I tend to like. As for the bee, not sure why it appears out of focus, maybe it is not showing well on your screen, viewing on my screen I am able to see the hair on it's legs and veins in the wings. I did a local adjustment to the flower and the bee in Silver Efex using a control point to add contrast and structure. Maybe could have added a bit more. Thanks |
