39 Jan 23 Reply Also a good point. In my version it is part of its environment and in Kathryns version it is strictly the cactus. Now that I look closer, I prefer my version. Not that I thought about this before everyones comments, thanks for the input. Jan 15th
39 Jan 23 Comment The B&W version is very dramatic with great contrast and tones. The clouds, barley noticed in the color version really pop and become an integral part of the image.

I have been to this location a few times and not seen this composition before, good catch. I can think of nothing to change.

39 Jan 23 Comment Interesting image, the water drops are a plus, not sure how they hang on like that. A good subject for B&W. The contrast of the smooth leaves against the square patterns of the bench adds tension and impact.

Might lower the highlights just a bit, I think it will bring out more detail in the leaves and blend a bit more with the bench.

An interesting image that holds the viewer.

39 Jan 23 Comment What a great opportunity, would love to go there. The only chance I got to shoot puffins was on a photo shoot to the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. We never got close enough for a shot.

This works well for B&W with the contrast in colors and most of the bird is B&W anyway. The puffin is well isolated from the foreground and background and stands out well. Very nice.

39 Jan 23 Comment This shows well how rough the coast is here. Interesting with the bird in the foreground. The contrast, tones and flow work well. Using the water edge as a leading line helps to bring the viewer in. A good subject for B&W.

I think I might like more of the shore to the left than the ocean to the right.

The horizon is leaning left a bit and there is a bright halo around the main stacks. The halo is not in the color version.

39 Jan 23 Comment An interesting image. The crop works well to bring attention to the subject. The DOF works to limit the impact of the pole distracting from her.

Wondering what effect it would have if she were more to the left of the pole.

Still an interesting image.
