The crop in on the two inflight birds was a good choice as they are the main focus of interest. The birds are tack sharp which makes them stand out from the background and pull the viewer in.
I agree with the others on removing the distractions. The version Kathryn made works very well. |

The color version wins, however, the conversion to B&W is well done and creates a strong image. It looks infrared. The reflections provide good interest and impact.
I would have preferred the reflection not be cropped. Maybe use more of a vertical format to keep them in. I did a crop to the color version for example. |

The pose of both the girl and the horse works well as they both have good interaction with the camera. The square crop works well for the subjects.
Overall it is a bit too dark. Adding some adjustments such as pulling down the highlights and opening the shadows would add more detail and create more depth. |

The pose makes the image strong as the angle creates a good view of the deer front to back. A slight catchlight in the eye is always good. The sharp focus and blurred background make the deer stand out and creates depth. The fence post does add to the story, "you can't get me". Seeing the back of the deer and the shite tail help to make the conversion to B&W work well.
I have no suggestions for improvement. |

Always like what a slow shutter does to flowing water, and it works very well here. I am not a fan of shooting waterfalls myself, but in this case it is very strong and holds interest.
Because of the great colors in the rocks in the color version I think I prefer it over the B&W. I also think the composition of the landscape format is a bit stronger. Had I not seen the landscape version I probably would have had higher praise for the B&W version. Either way they are strong images and well done. |

A strong image, especially with the changes you made to highlight areas. I see the bird now that I did not see in the original. This is an ideal image for B&W as the color version was almost monochrome blue and does not have the detail shown in the B&W.
The suggestions are great to see, this is what our group should be doing more of. |
