39 Nov 21 Reply I like your definition, it is exactly the kind of information we should all be providing for our images when we submit them as it would make our intentions much more clear. But, when it comes down to it, the only person we need to please is ourselves. Nov 9th
39 Nov 21 Comment This works well, the clouds are dynamic, the mountains lead from the sides to the tree and the light on the grass in the mid ground make the tree stone out.

Not sure what caused the halo. It is not as strong in the color version, so maybe from the B&W conversion.

39 Nov 21 Comment It would mostly be contrast, but on selective areas listed. It might be me too, I am having trouble with my right eye and get shots in it every month.

Here is my example, I used Lightroom and adjusted each of the areas using the new Masking feature, raising or lowering the highlights, shadows, texture, clarity and dehaze. I think selective adjustments provide more depth to an image, but that's just my eyes or eye. It is probable subtle unless compared side by side.

Hope that helps, let me know what you think.

39 Nov 21 Comment A great story here and a very strong image. The tones and contrast are well done. The lower angle does emphasize the workload of the children against the bright sky.

Is there are reason that the sky is so bright? I see there is lots of detail that could be brought out including clouds. I think it might add even more impact.

39 Nov 21 Comment A great scene with the river leading in and almost to the clouds in the background. Great clouds add to the mystery look. Reflections in the water are very clear.

Overall it looks flat with no DOF between the sky, water, trees and grass areas. Easily adjusted when processing.

39 Nov 21 Comment Very cool with that sky in the background. Everything is sharp with great tones. I think the composition works well for the subject and including the building gives some perspective.

I don't know if the London Eye leans or not but it looks like it is leaning in this image. I looked up some other images and they all show the same effect when shooting at this angle, interesting.

39 Nov 21 Comment This has great detail and strong interest. The clouds are a bonus. With all the houses looking the same on the outside, it makes me wonder what they look like inside. I think the image has a good composition and feel.

The issue I see is it is underexposed. I checked it in Lightroom and the histogram indicates it is underexposed by a full stop. Lightened up, I think it would be strong.
