I like the white stroke and grey frame, it gives depth to the boarder. There is a lot to see here with all the shapes and tones. There are both sharp and smooth transitions between the tones that provide division between the bright and shade areas causing the viewer to look longer, first to see the details in the bright areas then to see the details in the darker areas. After looking at the bottom right dark area I can see the waves of sand continue from the bright area. The dark ridge pulls the eye in and to the dark circle, black hole, upper right. The top left area is another attraction with the fine waves that almost shimmer. Lots to see and contemplate here. |

This really has some strong detail. The split tone effect gives it great DOF and the different intensities of lighting make me keep looking for more detail, it really holds the attention. Even though the color version has great colors I prefer the monochrome as it feels like it has more depth. It could use a thin stroke to make it stand out from the background. |

Wow, the B&W really pops, I am guessing no processing was doe to the color. I have been to Hurricane Ridge, it has some great views. I spent 7 days photographing all over the Olympic National Park in , great time great images. This image works great as a B&W as there is lots of contrast. Looking down at the clouds is a different and impactful sight and the clouds look like they are angry and climbing out of the valley. |

If the rocks were not in the foreground I would have thought you were standing in the river, the rocks give it a good base. After seeing the great water flow I see the trees upper center and they really add to the image. Using a slow shutter for the water was a good choice. Not sure but it looks like the river is coming from upper left, continuing left out of the image then back in and over the rocks. If so, I would have liked to see more of the left side. Looking at other images of the falls on the web, there may be buildings to the left so maybe no choice. Very pleasing image. |

Very dramatic and an apropos title. It is a bit like the iconic shots taken in Monument Valley. It is good the trees are at the far end, if not it would feel like the road was going off the edge of the planet. The B&W really brought out the clouds which adds to the dramatic feel. I am wondering if it had been taken from a lower angle if it would be even more dramatic. Great impact, well done. |

I really like how the light is working on the ground in front of the Tabernacle and reflecting back on the building. The shadows from the trees coming in from both the bottom left and right corners work well as leading lines to the building. I also see a V created by the light coming from top left and right corners to the doors and an inverse V coming from bottom left and right corners to the doors. The light in the sky and trees give it a heavenly feel. For me it tells a strong story of yesteryear, too bad it is in bad shape. |
