I think I prefer the horse moving left, it adds a little tension and more interest for me. |

This is very interesting and takes a second, third, fourth etc look to see everything. The foot prints are quite dynamic. The shading on the rolling foreground looks like nude bodies lined up together, arms raised and all facing to the left. I am conflicted with the top/background as to whether it adds to or detracts from the overall impact. The beauty and interest is in the foreground and I feel there is little interest in the background and sky on the other hand the background and sky do not over take the image either.
The color image looks very different with sharp ridges and after seeing the color image, it becomes difficult to see the smooth rolling I first saw in the B&W. After looking hard I can switch between seeing the ridges as sharp edges and smooth rolling ridges.
Overall a very strong and impactful image. |

I agree with the background and getting more of the feeder, the problem is, the window I was able to shoot through is pained with no way to move the camera. Since taking some this way I moved the feeder to change the background. Still the pains in the window will not let me shoot wide so getting all of the feeder is near impossible. We have to take what we can some times I guess. |

Paul, Have you looked at doing Luminosity in Lightroom? Maybe not all the tools but very close and much easier.

An interesting image with the leading line from bottom right to the building works well. The size of the building is a bit deceiving until I see the tiny specs of people. The building and cars upper right tend to distract from the main subject but I am not sure there would have been a way to eliminate it, maybe tone down the white cars, not sure. It could also be because both buildings are lined up going left to right making a less than < shape from bottom right to left edge and back to upper right and the eye follows the shape. |

Great details, tones, contrast and lighting. The vertical format and low perspectives provides a good DOF. Even though it is good as a vertical I wish I could see more on each side, feels too narrow. For whatever reason the color version appears wider, just a visual anomaly maybe. Still a strong image. |

Well done, the B&W far exceeds the color version. In the color version the horse barely stands out from the background and in the B&W it really pops with great detail tones and sharpness. The clouds add to the to the overall feeling of a cold winter day in rough terrain. Really like the details and movement of the horses main and tail as they provide a strong feel of movement/motion. Great shot. |

Larry, this is quite dramatic, looks like you are about 10 feet away. I think I prefer the color version as it shows more detail in its face and head. Yet, the B&W has great contrast and tones. The DOF is very well done as I can seen into the woods behind the Elk and it feels like standing there. I have been to the Hoh Rainforest, spent about 7 days in the Olympic National Park just photographing, never saw anything like this though. A great place for photo ops, would love to get back there again. |

Wow, this has very strong impact. The shadow line patterns are great and the overall texture stands out with great detail. The DOF makes it look like I am standing right there. I think the shadow lines give balance to the larger wall on the left. I would not change a thing and I would have this printed large and hanging on my wall. |
