A great story that tells us that things have not changed much in parts of the world. The composition works well and the tones, contrast and shadows are very good. Wondering of including the other people, in the color image but more of them, would tell an even stronger story. |

I was stopped once by a man in black while photographing the light rail in Phoenix. He told me I was not allowed to take the pics due to Home Land Security, I told him I had permission from the light rail head office, which I did, and that either way it was not illegal. He pressed his point and I decided not to get my self in trouble so stopped. I contacted the head office the next day and they had heard of my experience and told me I had the right to shoot there and that the security people were informed, did not have any issue after that. |

A beautiful building and captured well. The sky and clouds are a great addition to the overall image. The lighting and shadows brings out all the many shapes. I am wondering if more of the building on the left and less of the open area on the right would give it a little more balance. Either way I would take out the person on the far right, tends to pull the eye a bit. |

Here is another image Jerry sent me and his description. A stark difference from the outside, I guess we can't judge by the cover.
"This stairway was ugly, dirty and out of place in one of the most beautiful buildings in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Milwaukee Art Museum. It was so out of place that on my day visiting, I decided to emphasize the dirt, grime and scratches. It could have been a part of the building under construction. I did not venture down to find out? This is an artistic feeling of what I saw that day. Jerry" |

I have been here to Taos Pueblo, a great place for some great shots. When I was there they were having a pow wow, that was extra special.
You captured a good feel for the buildings there, multiple levels and I imagine built over time, hence the title. The texture and detail work well along with the dark sky and make it feel like it did when I was there. I think it would be stronger if it were a horizontal and included more of the building, that probably comes from knowing most of them were long with lots more to show. You captured a great example. |

I much prefer the B&W version, the color version is very harsh. An interesting concept with the black and white half and half. Great focus and catch lights on the eyes. smooth tones on her skin give her a strong impact. For whatever reason the hand looks out of place and pulls me away from her face. It almost looks like it is not her hand, just an odd feel for me. |

Great texture in the old walls and the light area behind the wheel helps bring the viewer in. Seeing it small does not do it justice, when I open it in PS I can see all the great details and lighting. Two things that I would suggest, brighten the water flow next to the wheel and the crop at the top feels too close to the chimney. a side view to show more of the building might work well also, except for the tree may be in the way. |
