Thanks Larry, you are correct about the DOF, should have used another aperture. |

I like simplicity in photography and this one fits the bill. The lines, the tones and work well here. The ship in the background is a bonus. The ship stands out more in the color and I think it might be good to make it stand out slightly more in the B&W as it took awhile for me to notice it. A little more contrast would make it pop also. |

Wow, I can just feel the power in this image, very strong. Lots of detail with deep DOF. The steam is an added bonus and I like that the slim amount of track was left in the image at the bottom. Because the engine is very long, I would like to have seen more of it with a pano type shot. Still a great shot. |

A very strong image in B&W. I really like the stark white/high key effect. Her dark dress also works well. Her pose flowing with the stairways is also a nice touch. I might put less open space at the top and include more of the stairs at the bottom. |

Quite dynamic especially with the low clouds in the mountains. The light through the clouds makes the image very strong. The B&W works much better for me. I would think more of a pano with more of the right side would make it even stronger. Great shot. |

The shapes, lines, texture, tones, composition are all strong and pleasing. Sharp focus makes it very crisp looking. The thin stroke around the image really makes it stand out from the background. Only thing I see it the lower left is soft, not sure why. |

Hi Paul, saw your message in Group 39 and thought I would take a look at your photo. The lighting and tones are great and makes a very strong B&W. For me the cactus in the top left background is a distraction, so moving to the left and shooting more right to include more of the other Aloe plants and eliminate the back left would make it even stronger and puts more emphasis on the subject. Or possibly cropping in from the left about an inch and a half. I tried the crop and for me it makes the image even stronger. Hope you don't mind, I included the cropped image. |
