Eric - thanks for your comments. I like the way you've darkened the face a little - it does seem an improvement. I will try to replicate your changes! |

A good example of the fact that good pictures are everywhere, just waiting for a photographer to notice them, something I seldom do. For a monochrome picture, this has got it all - lines, textures, 50 shades of grey (that would make a good book title), patterns in the plaster and the brickwork, and a window to look through.
Don't renovate your house - leave it as is, and charge local photographers a fortune to shoot in it! |

This has a picture-postcard look about it (and I very much mean that as a compliment). I like the hills on the right-side horizon, which give the image a sense of place. |

I like the composition with the five birds, and the reflections make the image special. I like the way that you've allowed the reeds (?) at the bottom of the image to make a frame for the cranes, and give the image depth.
The original does look a little bland, and your treatment has made a great improvement.
As Bollin says, I would be interested in seeing if toning down the greens/yellows a little brings the birds out a little more, but it works for me as it is.
I'm just finding myself that bird photography is rewarding but difficult, and my keeper rate is certainly less than 10%! |
