25 Apr 23 Comment I like this very much. The steps lead up to the open doorway, enticing the viewer onwards. I can almost smell the food!

I don't know what the offending buildings were, but cloning/removing them has produced a very clean and uncluttered image, so it was certainly a good move.

The red geraniums and the blue sky complement each other very well.

The image as a whole makes me feel warm - and hungry!

25 Apr 23 Comment Very nice image - two cute dogs, and very colourful flowers in the foreground make for a very successful composition.
The choice of aperture is good too - the greenery in the background is pleasingly out of focus.

If I have one small criticism, I find that after looking at it for a long time that the main point of sharp focus is on the flowers, with the eyes of the dogs being ever so slightly soft.

I look forward to seeing some blue bonnets - we don't get them in this part of the world!

25 Apr 23 Comment There's little to object to from a technical point of view about this - it's a good shot of 'everything', and certainly sets the scene. The clouds are nicely handled, and the bridge in the background balances the boat. The guns add foreground interest, and the chap on the left looking at them adds something. Exposure, focus etc are spot-on.

The colours look slightly too saturated to my eyes, but that may well be how the scene really looks (the weather's bit grim here today, which probably is just making me jealous!).

I look forward to seeing some of the rest of your shots from this interesting place.

25 Apr 23 Reply I don't use burst much these days, as in the past I found that the best shot was usually the first - although I would always recommend others to use burst! When photographing rugby, I always stand where the light is best, and hope that at some time in the next 80 minutes the action will come to me. At the next game I shot (maybe I'll post one next month) the light was such that most of my shots were side-on. Apr 10th
25 Apr 23 Comment Nicely done - a great example of how to do this. The patch of light in the sky is good, but the 'spiders' on the ground are the best bit! Apr 6th
