Interesting image. At first glance it looks simple, but it sort-of compels a second look, where you see a bit more. Then a third look. As Eric says, good tonal range, and some very interesting subtle textures. It's the sort of image that cries out to be in mono - I think it would not work nearly as well in colour.
Every time I look at it I find something I'd not noticed before. |

There is such a lot about this scene that I like, but I'm always a sucker for a picture with a train in it - even a diesel! The three-aspect semaphore, the red crossing light, the great details on the loco etc. I've taken many pictures of trains crossing bridges, but this one of the train coming towards the viewer with the bridge end-on is very appealing. I agree with Audrey about the top-most overhead wire. On the other hand, the truck that Audrey cloned out of her snow picture seems to add scale (or something) here. It's not the same truck is it? |

Gosh - it makes me feel cold! The textures in the snow really give the image depth, and the exposure is spot on. Nice image - and the version without the car is even nicer! |
