Mark, you are so kind to give us all your time and expertise! Where can I sign up for your Ps classes? ;) I took a Ps class at a community college when I knew zero about it and could really benefit by taking it again now. And the "Orton Effect?" I'd never heard of it and REALLY appreciate you mentioning that so I could research it! Thank you so much for your recommendations! The ones I like best are brightening upwards and filling in that distracting hole on the left side. Thank you again! |

Thank you, Neil! I remember this tree was growing into the sidewalk, which I think is why I framed it like I did. I need to go back there now!

Thank you, Paul! It's right where I grew up in Central Florida and just feels like home to me. Also, I was so happy to get that sunrise (and boater) after I got myself up that early. ;) |

Ed, Fantastic! I absolutely love the bird shots and these particular flowers are so cool (although I laughed when I read your title until you mentioned that's their real name!). The flower he is sitting on looks so beautiful and crisp, but I feel like I want the bird to be sharper and brighter, too. Apologies for piggy-backing, but I think Dawn's crop is so perfect (although I might take out that little bit of flower on the left). In her crop, there is something about having the blue layer at the top with those little spots, and the way the flowers are arranged in that crop (balanced against the angle of the sky) that seem perfect to me! So pretty! |

Neil, Wow! What an incredible sky/landscape you captured! I feel like there are at least ten different great photos within this one photo. I wanted to crop in and bring out that cool bridge more, but I don't know where you'd break the clouds. It is a bit underexposed and Mark did an amazing job adjusting the exposure. And like Ed said, especially if you were going to crop in and/or print, you'd probably want to remove those electrical lines. I haven't done that in a while, but I think it's a lot easier than it used to be in Ps. |

Paul, I love this! How unique! The reflection is amazing. also I love the sunny sparkle on the melting ice and the razor sharp clarity. The colors on that one little duck are gorgeous! I'm late to the reviews again and am just piggy-backing, but I agree with Darcy on removing that little bit of distracting goose on the left. My eyes want a little more of the ice on the top so the geese aren't as crowded, but I have no idea what you might've been avoiding above them. |

Mark, you are indeed like the "Painter of Light!" ;) I don't know how it would print, but it is absolutely lovely! I supposed the yellow-green of those leaves around the water and the orange in the prominent tree branches make it appear "touched up," but the lighting seems perfect to my eye and it is lush and idyllic! |

Darcy, apologies for getting your photo so late in the month! It is a very creative composition that definitely makes me feel the cold, harshness of the snow-covered mountain. The reflection is the star here and I feel like I want to see more of it, but I'm not sure how to get that without taking away from the bold lines of the snow and water. So, I fooled around with it in Ps a little because it intrigues me. Removed a few things and played around with a brightness contrast and a gradient overlay. The tree line on the left grounds this for me, so I wanted to include it and use it for balance. I want to play with it more, but alas, time does not permit me.

Gorgeous! Great composition, color (thank you for adding the name of the post- filter...I have yet to work with those) and capturing this beautiful creature! The background seems like the perfect backdrop for the subject(s) to bring out their color even more. I like Ed's crop, too--it helps to put more focus on the hummingbird. |

Thank you, Dawn! And yes on the flares--thank you for the tip! I did get low on this one. It was right off the path in the park and had such an interesting look. I don't pull out that 14-24mm for many things, but this seemed like a good candidate. ;) |

Thank you, Paul! It's not an HDR image; I just got lucky. ;) I wish I knew what type of tree it is, but I know there are a lot of really old, interesting oak trees in the state. I'll have to ask my in-laws. |
