Merry Christmas Quang.I endorse Charles suggestions and agree with his comments. The only small suggestion I would add to enhance the depth of field would be to gently darken from the front of the image into the base of the first tree trunk. the gradient tool would be good to use for that. Hi Charles. Merry Christmas. You have definitely succeeded in leading us along the trail up into the mountains. You have done a superb edit in bringing out colour and contrast plus interest to the sky. With the secondary leading line of the trees on the left it may be worth experimenting with the golds, yellows and greens to punch up their hues and make them "pop" more. I would also suggest experimenting with lightening the shadows on the left hand peaks rock faces. Cheers Brian |

Hi Brian. Merry Christmas. You have captured an interesting composition that deserves additional processing. Its a difficult time of night to capture and overall it feels very flat. I would be tempted to rotate the image down on the L/H side to give the horizon a horizontal perspective. I accept that the mountains in the distance my well be rising on the left but visually it doesn't fit comfortably. Some dodging and burning through the snow covered landscape would remove the flatness and and create depth and contrast. Charles has offered suggestions on the sky which are worth exploring. Cheers Brian

Hi Mark. Firstly Merry Christmas.Your sky replacement is an excellent choice. The "aged building" may work better if you grunge up the clean precise brickwork in the chimneys bit. In their current form they did not project "old" to me. |
