Hey Catherine, hope you are feeling better. I love your comment. I do my best to keep things straight but you are right: most of the stuff I shoot is old and rusted. |

Hey Andrew, you are telling a great story. It is one of your nacks. I felt it was a little flat so I punched up the texture and clarity (no surprise for me) and I burned some of the light spots and (sorry for doing this) I took out the two white rectangles where the light was coming through the box. I took me away from exploring the image. Your shot is worthy of showing, or entering into a contest. Nice job OBI-WAN. |

Hey Julie and Henry. I have working with Andrew to realize the full value of submitting images to the PSA on a monthly basis. He told me it is not a place to showcase your best work, but it is a place to submit an image that you are having issues with. I wanted to show an interesting statue that is a monument to machinery and like a good painter, having a background to supliment the subject. The main goal, which we all should have is to make an image what we wanted, and from comments from my family here at group 40, that is what happened. I wanted to show the statue without a distracting background, and I wanted to have it a little off centered (I never believed in the rule of thirds until lately). I think, with your help, I ended up with an image that I am satisfied with, and that is the value of the PSA groups. So here is my re-think of the image. When it stands alone at an art gallery, it will speak for itself. Thank you both. |
