Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
32 Aug 24 Comment Hey Tom. I was looking at images from other groups and yours caught my eye. I really like you image but for some reason, to me, it looked like the aspect was off. I made an adjustment in Adobe Camera Raw and I may have gone too far the other way, but anyway, I also liked the texture of the rocks and as an experiment I played with the texture and clarity. I also opened in Silver Efex and then I applied DeNoise AI. I hope you did not mind my playing around with your image. Thank you Tom. Aug 10th

40 Aug 24 Comment Hey Andrew, thanks for the comment. First my longest lens is a 210mm which is part of my 28-210 Nikon Lens. That is why I do not photograph Birds or Wildlife. I am going to the Galapagos Islands in January and this has caused some anxiety on my part. When shooting in downtown San Francisco, I do not like to look too conspicuous. I do like the option of several different crops in Adobe Camera Raw. Next, I agree, the aspect looked a little off, and I guess I got lazy and let my brain correct the angle. I put the image in Nik Perspective and all the verticle lines now seem straight. I am not sure if that is what you meant. If anyone has a fix, let me know because I deal with this all the time. Thanks Andrew. Aug 13th
40 Aug 24 Comment Hey Henry, Nice shot. I have never seen an image submitted by you that did not have good planning and great placement and good exposure. I know I always have a story, but I lived on a Naval Air Station in Pensacola Florida where the Blue Angels were home based and I lived next to their Crew Chief. They used to buzz the house. So I have been to many air shows and I must say, The thing usually missing is clouds. Even online classes about shooting airshows talks about lack of clouds. I am very impressed. Were the smoke trails all different colors? very cool. You seem to get some really cool stuff from your deck. I want to come visit. Aug 10th
40 Aug 24 Comment Hey Janice.I like your shot. I think nothing says worn and weathered better then black and white. I think the issue was adjusting the blacks and whites. I also played with highlights and shadows but my secret weapon is Texture and Clarity. I have been told a good place to start is to place the texture where you start to see things pop and then add half of that value in clarity. I also opened it in Silver Efex and used the more silver preset and I don't think it looks dark at all. Now, since this is an entry into a competition, just play around with it. good luck. Aug 10th
40 Aug 24 Comment Hey Andrew, cool shot. I have never tried ICM but... I grew up trying to make sure my images were sharp and my camera was held steady. This may be something for me to try. I do not see anything I would have done different. You seem to have mastered this, so check that off your list. You never cease to amaze me. In the old days someone would have asked, "is he okay. Did he trip?" that was before I got more interested in Fine Art Photography. The more I look at it, the more I like it. Bravo Andrew. Aug 5th
40 Aug 24 Comment Hey Catherine, nice image. I like the clouds in the original so I adjusted the temp in Adobe Camera Raw and increased the texture and clarity and added a little vignette. I think I may have gotten somewhere in the middle and I may have increased the detail of the bridge. I forgot the sharpening and noise reduction, so that might work also. Nice image... cool bridge... big crane, and nice clouds. Aug 5th
40 Aug 24 Comment Hey Ling Ling, This is a very interesting image. I was having trouble with the aspect and could not figure what seemed off. The real difficulty here is that the bridge slopes up to the left and there is a crooked tree on the left and the right seems off, but I think is a combination of the three. I may be the only one who sees it this way. I also thought the sky was too blue so I increased the temperature in Photoshop and made it fee warmer. I also thought since there was so much sky and so much water that maybe black and white might work. Since you caught the scene at my favorite time (no people). I tried converting it in Nik Silver Efex. Not sure that worked. I can't wait to see what the rest of the group thinks. Travel photography can be hard when you might be trying to present a different view of a very visited place. Aug 5th
