Hey Ling Ling, Again welcome to our little corner of the photography world. What I like about your image, and try to do with mine, is, I like to tell a story about the image so that the viewer will have a little more insite to what I am trying to convey. I agree with Julie that this is a beautiful story and photo. I am a big fan of post processing and realize some people are not. What I did with your image was to clean up some of the distractions (to me) and show more of a minimalist image which is what Yellowstone is full of. I did some slider-work in Photoshop, and still kept your original story. I hope you don't mind, but that is the way I like to interact with other members of the group. I had a hard time at first taking suggestion from the group, but it has made me a better Photographer. Again I hope you don't mind. |

Hey Henry, I am jealous of your view. I understand why you left the vegitation in the lower right corner. Nice shot overall. I wish there was some way to show that the shot was taken from your deck. I recently took my first cruise and I intentionally left some of the ship in some of my shots to show we were on a ship. If the subject was more than a half mile away, I guess it would be hard to include some of your deck. Nice shot as always and if I ever sail by, I will email you so you can photograph me. Thanks Henry. |

Hey Jamie. You are so lucky. My daughter went to Iceland for two weeks a couple of years ago and she brought back lots of Ice pictures. I just got back from Alaska and at the northern part of the coast we say floating ice and I was amazed at how blue it was. There was also some dark areas that looked like dirt. I put your image in Adobe Camera Raw and punched up the texture and clarity and reduced the highlights and hit some contrast and it looked better, but when I put it in Color efex Pro and went to tonal contrast I made all the colors come out. The sky is a little dark but that is the way it was in Alaska so I don't know. If the ice is more blue than you remember it, I did not use any Saturation or vibrance or adjust any colors. Hope you like it and maybe it gives you a place to start. Thanks for sharing. |

Hey Ed. Wow, nice sharp image with a nice soft background. Melissa may have a point about the upper background, but the sharpness of Pelusa is very nice. I like the Black and White choice it highlights the expression on the dog. Very Nice. Reminds me of Alastair Miller's Ram Image (one of my favorites)

Hey Trevor, I agree with Melissa, nice portrait. The hat works either way for me. I like the crossed arms and feel the image is telling me a story of perhaps a traveler. As always, your exposure is right on. Thanks Trevor |

Hey Melissa, I agree with Trevor, you image is superb. I could not figure out the halo around the mushrooms and it looks like Ed did not either. It's one of those things that nag at some and not to others. I opened your image in Photoshop and applied my usual sliders and cropped and did some burning and then opened in Color effects and applied some contrast and then opened in silver efex and applied a filter. I then used Topaz noise reduction and here is what I came up with. I love the contrast in your version and the fact that you let the sun shine through on some of the caps. Nice shot. |
