Hey Henry, I like your image, and I think photographers use black and white when the colors distract from the overall mood of the shot. I think orange flowers look good orange. I did clone out the flower to the right that was trying to get in (just a quick Clone so don't judge). I also centered it more which I know might break a rule, and I darkened the greenery on the left. again a quick mask. Just a thought. Your shot was fine. |

Hey Julie, Cool Shot. I probably could have spent hours photographing the structures. My only advise is: Don't worry about rules (judges like rules but you don't have to). If you get a chance look up "Sammonisms". |

Hey Andrew, I agree with Henry. I also thought is reminded me of the Sandcrawler the Jawas used in Star Wars (only the shape). I love the colors and Since it appears you did not need to include anything surrounding the building, I cropped out the left side, and the lights on the right side. I could not figure what they were at first, so The were too distracting. I also punched up things a little to give it a stormy look. but regardless of that, the image was one of my favorites that you have posted. I just can't say enough!. |

Hey Henry and Andrew,
Thanks for your comments. I added some contrast and vibrance and cropped a little of the water, but honestly, I wanted to give the feel that the image was taken a long way away, like 5-10 miles away. Thanks for the help with this. |

Hey, Melissa, Thanks for the kind words. I agree the image can use a little brightness. The sun was very bright and I shot is early so the shadows were much more harsh. Thanks again. |

Hey Melissa, Welcome to our little corner of the PSA. Your Bio is very impressive and I think in 1972 I was shooting with a Yashica. Your image is very nice and I don't have anything to add that has not already been said. I look forward to seeing future postings to see what kinds of things you like to photograph. Again, Welcome. |
