Hey Lin, Thanks for your comment. I usually do not overedit my images like I do when they are posted on this forum. Sometimes when you overwork an image, you can have "Halos" apear around things. The process for getting rid of Halos is very time consuming. I hope newer photographers will learn both things to try and things to not try from our posted images. The main thing is, in my opinion, to evoke an emotion, tell a story, or capture images that are interesting. In my, over 50 years of photographing, I must admit I can be hit or miss with those three. Thanks again Lin. |

Hey Andrew, Those are three good ideas that I think will improve the image. Thanks. You know what they say... sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. Thanks again for the extra look. Here is my update |

Hey Andrew. Nice image. I like the post processing a lot and had a suggestion for the crop. I thought if you cropped the top so you could not see part of the windows, it would make you think that maybe it went on for ever. I also did not want to be pulled off into the room on the left, so I cropped it out. I kind of like being forced into a confined area. Just a thought. I get a real King Arthur feel here. By the way, I think this looks more like a painting than a photograph. Nice! |

Thanks Catherine. My main way of photographing just about everything these days is to set the ISO on auto and manually set my shutter speed at 125th/sec and f/11. This gives good foreground and background. This obviously does not work with the wildlife that you are doing, but I find I can spend much more time on the subjects at hand if I don't worry about settings. |

Hey Henry, thank you for the nice comment. We all want this organization to help us improve our photography, but at the same time, it is nice to hear positive comments. Sometimes we plan to photograph a certain area and once we get there everything changes. I have found those times to often produce some really good photographs. Thanks again for the comment. |

Hey Catherine. I like that I can feel the sun on the side of the boat. I tried it in black and white but the jury is still out on that. My only comment is that the shot feels a little tight. I would have like a little room around the boat. it might have given it a different feel. Overall it is a nice shot. |
