Hey Julie, I did not know about the warp feature. I will have to play with it. As far as the comments I received about the window paynes, all but two were frosted, so you could not see through them. I don't like changing that kind of stuff. Also, there were no lights in that room so the frosted paynes gave the room extra illumination. I do appreciate the comments as food for thought. Thanks again |

Thank you for your comments. The filter is great when you want the feel of Black and White but want to preserve some of the color. A good example is when I was editing my images of a recent trip to Yosemite Nat. Park I used the filter to keep the trees in the forground green and El Capitan and Yosemite Falls very black and white looking. Anyway, to answer your questions, it costs $35 for three hours and, to my knowledge, no one has done anything commercially with the images. Between August and Halloween (They have a haunted house) a construction crew will be doing major work. I have been invited back to the castle in November by the Director of the Foundation that runs the Castle (this time I get to shoot alone), and I plan to take him some images and see what can be done to better document this great building. I imagine when it is restored, it will become a museum. Your other question about the sharpness of the image; you are probably right. I had a lot of trouble straightening the image too (if you look at the original). Also I did not have enough light to use my 10mm-20mm lens so I pulled out my iphone and took the image. I did print the image and I looked at it under a loupe and it looks pretty sharp. I might be reducing the size of my images wrong to submit for comments. Thanks for your comments. This is my favorite stuff to shoot. |

Cool! I see what you did. Lots of nice tones and intersecting lines. I probably would not have thought to shift the image. You got me. You have given me something to think about. |

Good point, you don't want to lose the lake in the trees. One question I forgot to ask: how low to the ground were you. As I get older, I don't kneel as much as I used to. Again, I hope you did not mind me uploading one of my shots. I am not sure I will do that again. Sorry. I always get caught up in the excitement. |

I really like this image. The PS work was spot-on. I think the only thing I might try is Doug's mouth a little more open so you can see some teeth, and maybe holding the mushroom a little lower down the stem so you can see right away that it is a mushroom. I am not sure if I could get my phonto buddy Mike to pose for a shot, so, Bravo on your part. Good Depth of field too! |

Nice image. I find myself using my iphone more and more, especially when my Nikon is not liking the exposure. I am not sure which iphone you have, but I think this was just screaming for a panorama shot. I really wanted to see more of what was off-screen. I have only used it twice but it makes quite a difference when there are not a lot of "things" in your image. It's too bad photographers have to get up so early to get great images like yours. thought I would share a panoramic shot. hope you don't mind. |

Interesting image. I cloned the top right and it did look better, in my opinion. I also lightened up some of the shadows. One bad habit I have is shooting very tight. This image seems very tight. I am having trouble breathing. Also I wonder if you would have stepped two paces to the left if the image would have not looked so "posed". It looks like you are making a record of the statue for your scrapbook. |

Very sharp image. Good cropping, nice colors, and good subject. When I first saw the image it said "South America". I know you didn't, but it looks like you told each person exactly what to do. That is why good street photography is so hard to do. Good Image.

I was using Luminar as a plug in to Photoshop and it got wierd and then stopped working. I switched to DXO Nik Collection and I like it a lot more. The really odd thing was that this was the nicest door in town, but I usually do punch up the texture and clarity in ACR. I went back to an image I took in 2009 of the door and there was no street number on the door. Who knows. Either way works. |

Wow, I like your take on this. I can feel the door was colored. Not sure what color, but I can feel it. My opinion is that the number was more of a distraction and it was not needed. also, I have photographed every building is this town and the whole town is on the verge of collapse. The freshest paint in the whole town is the green on this building. I did a version of this using DXO color efex pro with the Bleach Filter and it really made everyting feel more black and white except the door, but it was toned down. I did not submit it because it had color in it. Thought you might like it. |

Good point. I am not sure how in PS or ACR to adjust that (I recently went back to PS after several years on Luminar). I printed the image and it seemed to have more contrast. Is this any better? |

Hey Ata, As a fan of street photography, I really like your image. I think Haru's take puts the subject in the real world and not just sitting by herself. I am glad no one cropped out the right side railing. You really captured all the textures and, as you said, the hygiene. |

Hey Tracy, This image was made for black and white. Your depth of field is perfect and as sharp as the image is, I feel i can just reach out and touch the Zebras. Wow! |

Hey Trevor, Wow, nice image. I liked the original, but having shot Black and White film for years, your black and white conversion blew me away. I was so wrapped up in the clouds and reflections that at first I did not notice the buildings. Haru had some good ideas. I was wondering about sharpening. I only use sharpening when I print, and not always. I use the Clarity slider in Adobe Camera Raw instead (which should be in Lightroom) and it tends not to be as harsh (although I find nothing harsh about your image). Just a thought. This is the first image I have seen from you and you have given me a very good first impression. Well Done! |

Hey Arne, as the new member of group 74 I am really excited to see how everyone is interpreting their images in Back and White. I really like your image and feel what you did was totally nessesary to set the right mood for the setting. I have only used sky replacement in Luminar once and it was very easy. I also liked what Haru did. Was the sky one of the presets in Luminar or do you have your own collection of clouds. I find on a cloudy day, I will just go out and shoot clouds and put them all in a folder called... Clouds. Good job of cloning. The clone tool is my best friend. Again, nice image. |
