I find the desert light and colors fascinating. (I am in Arizona as I write this.) In my opinion you have done a good job capturing the images that make up this pano as I can see that you did not lose much due to misalignment. Good job keepig everything level. To my eye there is still a little distortion, however no one else seemed to see that, so it may not be a fair assessment. Nevertheless, I would consider using Transform>Skew in PS to see if I could bend it just a little so there is less curvature. |

I guess I am a outlier on this one. The dark shadow on the right is a big distraction for me. I like the way you used the sidelight to bring out the textures and for me that is what this image is about. I envision it as a vertical crop eliminating the triangular shadow, and making the ivy and the shadow it casts the center of attention. |

I think the vertical crop was a very good choice for this image. The color of the berries is natural and pleasing in my opinion, but I think the Cedar waxwing color is more olive, so I would select the bird and adjust the WB. One other way you might deal with this would be in Color Efex. I would try the "Remove Color Case" filter and see if it helps. The bird looks sharp to me and I see a lot of detail in the feathers. I think this image could be a winner with just a few adjustments. |

I find the soft pastels in the sky very pleasing, and for me they do not need any adjustment. In my opinion darkening the foreground a bit would improve the image. Also, the first thing I noticed when I looked at this image was that the horizon is right in the middle dividing the image into two halves. I think cropping from the bottom as Mike has suggested is a good idea. In my opinion it makes the image feel a little less static. |

I think I am more in Pamela's camp. The rotated image does not work for me. My first thought when I saw this image was to lighten the head an beak. I really want to see some detail there. In my opinion this image has a lot of potential and could probably be interpreted in several ways. If it were mine I would set it aside for a few days and think about the direction I wanted to go then come back to it with a fresh perspective. |

Nice catch, Pam. I think the others are right about toning down the nest. I always think images should be darker in the foreground but in this image the darkness is at the top. Shooting up at that angle is a real challenge. The feathers and detail inside the beaks are nice and sharp on the foremost chicks but it falls off on the fourth one. Personally, I do not find that a problem, since the eyes of all four are in focus. I do not see the mesh on the right as a huge problem. I may not have paid any attention to it at all if the others had not pointed it out. |

Thanks for your feedback, Pam. I toyed with the notion of swapping the sky for one that had some clouds, but I came to the same conclusion as you did...in my opinon it would be a lot of work and would not help the image. |

Thanks, Polly, the buck in the lead had a much nicer set of antlers, but was probably older and wiser. |

I appreciate your comments, Judith. I wish I could have captured some action, but when he took off it wold have been a classic "butt shot." |
