I also thought your greens were too dark. I did some dodge and burn to get more depth in the foliage. It is hard to mess with the foliage using hue and saturation without affecting the green around the eyes. And yes, I agree that the vignette is too heavy. |

As much time as I spend watching Nature on PBS, this animal is not familiar to me. I believe you caught it at exactly right moment as I can tell it is running at a high rate of speed. In my opinion a panoramic crop would be a good choice. I would not leave as much space in front as you have in this version, but enough to clearly see that there is forward motion. |

As usual, very creative. We often overlook shadows as photograpic elements. I think you have pulled out the best part of what could have been a very busy image and made it quite simple. |

Good job stopping the wing action. I also see that you have got the catch light in the eye that is visible. I put this into LR and adjusted the tone curve. See my visual feedback. This was quick and dirty - you can probably do better - but I think the bird pops a bit more. Try it and see what you think. |

These are frequent visitors to my polinator garden and I find it very difficult to stop the wing action. In my opinion some slight wing blur works, but in this case, for me, the motion blur is so significant it takes away from my overall enjoyment of the image. I usually shoot this with a minimum of 1/3200 sec., and there is still blur, so even faster works better. I prefer not to aputate part of a subject, but Mike's crop has the advantage of elimnating the specular highlights. |

I think your comments are right on. See my attempt at an edit under Mike's comment. And thanks for the feedback. |

Thanks, Pam. I agree that sometimes it is hard to figure out the the correct WB. I like Mike's version, but had some different ideas. See my edit. Any further ideas you have will be appreciated, |

I aabsoluely agree that the white balance is off and had already changed that before reading your comments. I also think you are correct about the flat appearance of the background. Your edit seems to work, but I would like to have your feedback on my own edit. |
