I had to think about this image for a while before making up my mind. I enjoy the color palette, and I admire your ability to get that focus on the eye and the head tack sharp. Your tracking skills are awesome! I think what bothers me in this image is that the tracking blur creates horizontal lines and the wing motion creates verical lines. For some reason this is causing me a bit of cognitive dissonance. Having said all that, I have been trying for years to get a motion blur with flying birds that I like - to no avail. |

That wide open aperture really did the job for you. I would suggest using the radial filter in LR to select the foremost leg; then add contrast and clarity. I believe it would appear a lot sharper. In my opinion you have it cropped just right. |

I think this is a very nice sharp documentary image. The background is nicley out of focus so does not present any distractions. It looks to me like it is a 4X6 aspect ration. I wonder if you would consider using an 8X10 ratio and eliminating some of the stone at the bottom? |

I like the nearly monochrome effect in this image and wonder if you would consinder converting it to a monochrome sepia image. For sharpening I like to use high pass sharpening in OnOne, but I have found that I need to reduce the opacity to about 25 - 30%. Once you do that, you can easily add a mask and paint the sharpening out in selectd areas - for example the background. You could also do it in PS, but I just fins OnOne easier. I would consider adding a glausian blur to the back ground only. |

Wow! I think this is a wonderful image. I am very intrigues with your tecnique and willbe trying it immediately. One of my 2023 goals is to work with floral images on a light pad. I will combine this with the backlit effect to see what can be done. I like the image just the way it is and would not change anything. |

I appreciate what you and Ally have said; the interesting thing about this image to me is that the larger moon is closer to how it actually appeared. Because it was setting it was relatively close to the horizon which in itself made it appear somwhat larger. I shot this with wide angle lens which made th moon appear smaller than it did to the naked eye. If I would have used a zoom lens, it woudl have compressed the image and made the moon larger than it was in my original. So. I am thinking that the way i have presented it is fairly close to the way it appeared. That is what captured my attention and made me want to capture the scene. For me, the center of interest IS the moon and that is where the eye should come to rest. |

The first reaction I had to this image when you submitted it was that it had a distinct cyan color cast. Mike noted this and his suggstion to warm it up improves it in my opinion. Since you are using Color Efex Pro, you might try the Remove Color Cast filter and see if there are options there that you like. |
