Nice candid capture. I also think the lighting is a little harsh as it appears flash was used. |

So many versions and all quite nice. I think the real smile is in the figure in the background of the flowers to the left on Al's copy. Very whimsical. |

I agree - nice job of recovery. I tried removing the light stuff (hay perhaps?) from his coat and sharpened the eyes and mouth a little. |

Every time I look at this I have to laugh out loud. It's so cute. I do like Joe's rework. Keeping the one pumpkin and darkened makes the subjects odd instead of even. With the bright pumpkins I got distracted as well. Cute find. |

Gave it a shot by dodging the branches and burning in the sky. Hope you don't mind. |

There is a sense of grandeur in the hanging branches of this tree which is the focal point for me. I like the lighting on the tree in both images but my preference would be with the B&W as the flowers seem brighter. I feel that Cheryl's suggestion of bringing up the brightness on the colored image might make it stand out even more. |

I like Bob's remake with making the fire and clouds brighter. It's a good capture though and the trees at the bottom left give it a sense of scale of that fire.
With the edges being so dark, I would like to see a small stroke to set off the image. |

I have found in working with Content Aware that I need to be careful not to make too big a selection or a selection that includes differing colors. For example, if you were to make a selection that includes the dark sky and some of the bright orange, you might end up with the bright orange where you don't want it. It is a great tool to learn to use...don't give up on it. |
