Yes - true in saddle bronc, bareback bronc and the bull riding. The free hand can't touch the animal or the clock stops. |

Thanks Jerry. I kind of felt that the extra sky added some depth and kept the barn in the lower left corner. Will see what happens if I cut it down. |

It may be a natural position for a bronc rider. They can't touch that free hand anywhere on the horse. It might be that it keeps him from tossing his arm too far back and making a possible touch? |

I agree with Joe - it needs some room for the first fish to swim (fly) into. It's a cute image.

Here's my attempt as what I suggested. I also burned in the white tent which turned it blue. |

I agree with John. I'd like to see a darker sky and perhaps more saturation in the brush of the foreground. I'm also a bit bothered by the branch that almost touches the mountain. I know you shouldn't change a nature shot much but I'd almost like to see a small part of the tip removed. |

Great capture on the horse and rider. For the background, you could try selecting the main portion of the image - around the hats of the cowboys, down to the chutes, around the bronc and maybe across the top of the base of the stands. Then use a Gaussian Blur effect to blur that part out.
Maybe I'll give it a try after I get my own image done. :) |

Very nice - like the way you handled the background. I also like the stroke you used. It's tiny but I feel it keeps me focused on the image and not drifting outside of it. |

I'm going to agree with Mike about the colors. Great to do experimentation though. I think a pure B&W might work. Just FYI - if you are entering a monochrome competition with this, it will probably be rejected. Monochrome is defined as a photograph or picture developed or executed in black and white or in varying tones of only one color. There is the appearance, to me, of white, black and red. If the fireworks were solid red, it might work. Overall - kudos from trying new things and good job. |

I agree with Steve, the composition is really good. To me, this is a perfect example of how to position items that are even number. The one being behind and slightly above the other creates an interesting view. The saturation is pretty strong but I like it. I'm thinking it might be a little over-sharpened but I rather like the details it brings out. |
