Interesting image. I'll agree with Jerry about the position of the horse. I would like to see the front end more than the back end though you have kept that portion darker. |

Took a shot at a rework - burned in the grass and sheep and tried to change some of the grass that appears, to me, to be cloned. I like the composition Jerry created too. |

Yes, it must be orange sky month. To me, I feel the grass is a little too highlighted. Perhaps tone the foreground down some? Sky replacement is good. |

Good eye, Peggy. I didn't see those until I zoomed in. |

I like the sky replacement, John. Nice job. I do feel the building feels like it's leaning backward. While I like the bricks being brought out more, the clouds indicate more of a shady day. I would make the same comment on my image as I don't feel the light is in the right direction for the sky. With your image, however, the point is really picky. |

Keystoning is when the image appears to be out of proportion - such as wider at the top and narrower at the bottom. In John's image, the building is wider at the bottom in a more exaggerated way than in Joe's rework. You can adjust keystoning on your monitor or TV or digital projector if the picture doesn't appear correct. |

I wondered who would pick up on that. The lighthouse is centered (and I guess the subject) - I just thought the building out farther would off-center the whole image. |

These are the type of things that judges look for. I know we weren't really looking to do competition images with this exercise but just something to think about if you do compete. |

Great action and a good replacement on the background. To me, it seems more "peaceful" than the boards. I'll be very picky - it seems there are some indications of cloning by the right side post. Other than that - nice job! |

It reminds me of clouds in a way so the overlay is nice. The reason I asked about the overlay is that the exercise was to make corrections to what might seem to be an unusable image. Something to test or hone skills with layers, masking and blending modes rather than a composite - like what you did with your January image. However, your rather bland original is definitely improved by the texture. |

Okay, I'm going to be picky (as usual). I'd like to see a little less border, or an extension of the canvas, so that the bottom of the boat isn't cut off. I do like the effect you've created and also the composition.
I will ask the question as to whether the entire image was blended with the background texture. |
