Of course the original will stay with four. Hopefully everyone is keeping their original images intact. One never knows if an image could be used in different ways with different processing. |

Thanks Jerry. I'll have to check the settings and see what I can do. |

I'm going to disagree with Jerry - I think cropping from the bottom would be better. Leave the trees. :) |

If I look closely, I think the "halo" is just the leaves that aren't quite as lit up creating the dark spots that look like it's haloed. Not much you can do with that. :) |

On Saturday, I was back at the PBR event and the usher told me I couldn't have my camera. I showed him the lens can't come off so he let me be. It's a Canon SX-50 with a zoom that's really nice. However, it has a slower shutter. I took video this time and might try to find a frame that I could pull out and work with. |

I also like the lines presented here. My first look at the image gave me the impression it tilted to the left. However, the big front tree is straight. I like the shadows and the lighting that created them. Overall, good job. |

I'm going to agree with Mike about the trees. I feel they take away from the horses. Although it's not as bad as some uses of even numbers, I think three horses would be better. My eye is going back and forth looking at all of them.
Overall, it's a very pleasing image though. Good work. |

I'm headed to the event here in Chicago over the weekend so I'm hoping to improve on some of my shots. Hard to get really good ones with a point and shoot but I keep trying. :) |

I like the idea you've presented though I think the bull is now lacking any detail. I'm going to play with this one again. Thanks. |

I feel the book does weight it to the left. Regarding Joe's comment about the tiles - I think it follows my comment that in the color version, the tiles are more harmonious with the piano - they blend into the background. In the BW version, there is the stark contrast between the white and black. |

It's such a cute llama portrait. I agree with Joe on the eyes. That is one thing that disturbed me because eyes often tell the story. Perhaps lighten and add some detail (or sharpening) - just to the eyes. I like the strand of grass in the mouth. I think it adds to the appeal of the portrait. Nice job. |

I agree with Mike - the perspective is great. When I looked at the color version in large view, I found the colors to be harmonious - the tiles go right along with the inside of the piano. I do think that notebook on the left adds a "heaviness" to the left side. I wonder what PS Content Aware would do in trying to remove it. It's a very interesting image - nice job! |

Next month Joe will replace the white background for our exercise in sky or background replacement...not that he hasn't already. :) |

I noticed that too and figured it was noise. However I wasn't able to reduce it any. Will work on it more. Maybe could clone it out. |

I'm going to disagree somewhat with Mike. I'll agree it's a beautiful shot. However, I feel there is a "halo" around the tree lights. It's present in the original though I felt it was more pronounced in the final image. It's probably just the leaves being lit up. I also thought the original was sharper in the building section. Maybe it's my old eyes. I feel the original shows more of a "street scene" image than the cropped version and so I wouldn't care if the stop signs were there - in fact, I hadn't really noticed them until I read the description. In the final, I'm a little more bothered by the part of the tree on the left than I am in the original. Perhaps removing that tree?
Overall, both versions are really good. You did a nice job with a difficult subject. |
