I like what Mike did with the image. I feel the headstone is the main subject. I think both interpretations are valid with the life and death juxtaposition. I wanted to do something different but along the lines of Mike's final. I kind of tend to lean toward the desolate side for this one so I removed the background and envisioned a sort of solitary headstone out on a barren plain. I tried to add some "sky" to it with a cloud pattern brush and burned in the "horizon" to try and give some depth. Perhaps an old house way in the distance? |

Interesting rendition. I thought I had commented on this one but it looks like I haven't. Not too sure I like the red around the flowers. I was wondering what would happen if the flower was a water lily. Then it would look like a water lily on the water. |

Regarding your image - I like the girl taking the picture. I think she is part of the story. The people in the background being so bright bothers me a little. Interesting street shot though. |

To me, these photos are photojournalism. They are meant to tell a story more so than general photography - which is what the study group is really about. In a PJ competition they might do quite well.
In my opinion, our comments are what we personally feel about the image being shown based on what we have learned. This is why I think the March image will be very interesting. You may do anything you'd like to it - it is your interpretation. |

Another stunning image. I'm going to disagree with Jerry in that, while the pier is centered, I feel it divides equally two attractive features of this image for me. The sky - brooding yet hopeful of a nice sunrise and the water and sand more quietly greeting the morning. Good job. |

Great job. Very creative. I feel the shadows make the image appear real to me. I can imagine two people dancing - the sophisticated "lady in red" and the rough and tumble construction worker or outdoorsman. |

I got lucky with this one. I also took some video but haven't yet figured out how to pull one frame out as a still. |

I saw that too and was going to try and remove him. BTW - in professional bull riding now, they are known as bullfighters and not clowns though in some leagues they might still dress up like clowns. I'll see what I can do with getting him out of there. I might try a selection and blur out the background. |
