Thanks everyone. Perhaps this year I will enter some of the competitions. Haven't done that for a few years. |

Nick Muskovac does a lot of "egg" images like this so perhaps the Journal had one of his? I like this one. Makes me smile every time I look at it. Not 100% sure I like the B/W - would be interested in seeing the color version. Great job with the creativity. |

I also like the dark background. The coloring of the bird is set off by it. The feathers are nice and sharp and as Jerry says, the angle of the bird's head is rather unique. Nice job! |

I agree about the legs hiding the other horse's face. it looks like a slight move might get the second horse in view and still keep the bell but maybe not. The exposure is good and the image is crisp. Tough subject and you gave it a good try. |

I'll be interested in hearing the answers as I don't think I've ever seen this cross. I like the way you've brought out the texture in the wood and pretty much removed the distraction in the upper right corner. I sort of wish it weren't leaning but then to straighten it would make the wall look even more tilted. |

Beautiful image. The clarity is striking to me. Love the light effect. I don't know what you mean by lack of depth. Looks good to me. |

Are you all on Apple products? I still can't see this image so I'll have to pass on comments, I guess. |

Thanks Joe. I was going for the stark against the black more than the "realism" but you have a point. I'm not sure why I'm seeing sort of a "halo" around the flower or a shadow. It looks like dark edges around the flower. Was this from the blur? |

Gee, I almost don't want to comment now. :) I'm seeing an image that seems to need color correction. The sky seems too turquoise for me and the trees and ground seem to catch that cast as well. Looks like some of my old film pictures that have shifted color.
I would be interested in knowing more about Barbara's comment. Maybe it's just my "bad eyes". |

I like that you straightened it and lightened the building. Nice work! What I find a little odd is the sky coming down and meeting the ground. While this might happen on a hill, taking a historical place and removing those trees doesn't seem quite right to me. The top branches could stay removed but the trees on the side of the building I think needs to stay. |
