Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
90 Mar 22 Comment Very calming image of the shoveler. No distractions as you say, and cannot see any evidence of cloning, which is good. For me there is a bit too much sharpening, but that is nit-picking. The image was taken from a really good angle with space for the bird to move into. Enjoy the reflection! Mar 19th
90 Mar 22 Reply Glad you enjoyed the image Bev. Yes, the birds are not all sharp, most noticeable on the distant birds. Not a competition image, but it caught the atmosphere of the evening. The camera was really set up for birds in flight, sorry the shutter speed should have read 1/1600s not 1/600s. Mar 19th
90 Mar 22 Reply Thanks Julie. I would agree, probably best to reduce the luminosity on the blues to diminish the impact of the water in favor of the sands. Mar 19th
90 Mar 22 Comment Unusual shot of a heron. The bird is clearly keeping an eye on you; great to see the contact. The composition really works and I would not change a thing. Mar 5th
90 Mar 22 Comment Enjoy the sense of place and time in the image and crocuses are always a pleasure to see. Mar 5th
90 Mar 22 Comment Really enjoy the image, well captured. The white feather detail is just right. For me I would prefer to see more detail in the black underwings, but that is being picky! Do not mind the noise in the oof background and the water droplets from the fish really add to the story [just caught!]. There is a slight halo [white line] around the black wing tips [birds left wing] so do not sharpen any further! I would not worry about bokeh, you want full focus on the bird, which you have achieved. Mar 5th
90 Mar 22 Comment I tend to agree. Perhaps the title is not quite right. I was reluctant to darken the sea; the movement in which I enjoy. Mar 5th
