Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
90 Nov 21 Comment Thanks for the feedback. I did wonder about adding a background but this is one of a panel in which all the images have white backgrounds as I was trying to emulate early botanical drawings. However, I do take your point about the image looking unreal. Food for thought! Nov 24th
90 Nov 21 Comment In terms of your questions, focus stacking would not work with a bird in flight. Personally, I would turn the image into a letterbox format [pano]. There are some distracting reeds in the foreground that need removing and the sky is not adding much. That would put the focus more on the birds.
I would probably have used a tripod with a gimble head for mobility but never use a cable release. You could then have tracked the bird in flight and perhaps caught some action as it landed.
The birds are somewhat tightly packed together which is not helping you.
You certainly did well to get so close to the birds without spooking them, or perhaps they are used to visitors? Really enjoy the warm morning light.

90 Nov 21 Comment Really enjoy this image. The grizzly is certainly aware of your presence which adds to the tension. The only way I see to improve the original image is to crop off some of the top as others have suggested, the foreground was fine. Just wonder what the bear is digging up! Nov 24th
90 Nov 21 Comment Great capture. I also prefer the color version and would not change a thing. I can only clearly see 7 legs on the spider but it is really all about the web. Nov 24th
90 Nov 21 Comment Really enjoy some elements of this image. However, if the bee rather than the flower is the main focus of the image then you have to make it larger in the image. Knowing that the bees are visiting the flower it would have been worth spending time to relocate the flower such that the background was less distracting. Nov 24th
