Thanks for your comments Ginny and Dan. I will definitely go with the cropped high key version. |

Nice capture Dan. I would definitely have wanted more space around the subject. Very difficult to undertake stacks in the wild. There is almost always a breeze no matter how still the air seems. I grow a lot of my plants in pots so that I can take them indoors to photograph and then return them to the garden. This also means that you can control the background better. Nevertheless, you have captured a lot of in-focus detail that just needs to be brought out now in post-processing. Might have been worth using a greater dof and reducing the number of images to speed up the process. I try to limit my stakes to <30 images of flowers. |

Extraordinary image. Really enjoy the composition. I had no idea that the wings would flex so much. Great background and overall exposure is spot on. Such a shame that the shutter speed was not high enough to freeze the action but have been in the same situation many times myself. Still the more you do the luckier you get! |

I would agree that the lighting is difficult. The bird however is very well exposed and all in focus. As Dan suggests it really is the highlights that need to be toned down. |
