Mary Ann, your outstanding image definitely caught my eye. Your hard work instantly made me this this wild horse was caught in a heavy snow storm. Survival would have also been a good title. Your sepia tone monochrome worked extremely well. The image has great visual impact, interest and tells a good story. |

Sue, your image has great visual impact and interest and it immediately attracted my eye. The road is a strong leading line though the orchard that leads your eye towards the mountains and excellent sky. It is tack sharp and your crop is perfect. I took the liberty to remove the fence which I thought was distracting. What do you think? |

Frans, I too like the processed image although if the original wasn't laid out perfectly the processed image wouldn't be so interesting. Your image has great visual impact. This is an excellent composition and it has great color, sharpness and definition. Was it taken from a bridge? Very original approach and well done. |

Gregory, I too feel this is an exceptional image. Your texture blending addition is excellent. The horse and rider are very sharp and detailed. Crop perfect. I did feel the rider needed a little space over his head so I tried it. What do you think? |

Mike, I have gone through the full range of lightening the background to an almost black background. Unfortunately I like them all. Will have to see how some of them do in competition. As always Mike, thank you for any advice. |

Michael, outstanding image of a Sword Billed Humming Bird. The colors and sharpness of the Hummer are breathtaking. Most of the background is good but the dark blue area in the top left draws your eye, so I cloned it out. Very surprised that you could just about stop the wing movement at 1/2500. A friend of mine shoots a lot of Hummingbirds and he used several flashes with good results. |

Leslie, this is an amazing image. I can't believe how sharp it is! I even flipped it upside down and it is still tack sharp. (Upside down version below) They are striking ducks and are beautifully image captured by you. Great job catching them with all their heads looking left. |

Veysi, sometimes you are lucky and sometimes you are not. With the frog I think you really did luck out. With birds, it is a definite plus to catch a bird doing or eating something. Your image is perfectly sharp with very good definition and your crop is perfect. Some might say they don't like the grass in front of him but in this case I like it. Very natural. |

Jim, you did a great job in freezing the action and maintaining extreme sharpness. Since it is alway about eyes you certainly nailed this one. Outstanding image that most never see. I was lucky enough to see the Norther Gannets in action from the bow of a cruise ship somewhere between Cuba and Florida. They love the bow wave of the ship and like you said dive at a terrific speed and grab smaller fish. Unfortunately I didn't quite have a long enough lens with me. Super image! |

Jeremy, I find your Clarksville barn very interesting and your crop is perfect. The cables were a distraction so I hope you don't mind that I removed them. Lightened up on the vignette but I'm sure you could do a better job. The original sky is better. I really like the colors, sharpness and details of the barn and weeds. The rough textures of the silo and the vertical wood of the barn is also most interesting. |

Michael, your Race Track image is cropped perfectly and is very sharp. I have read about this phenomenon and still don't understand it. I guess you have to see it to believe it because these rocks are heavy and aren't small! Love the way you have the mountains in the upper third. Wouldn't change anything. Excellent image. |

Very interesting image Terry. Almost looks like pop art! Experimenting is alway fun especially when you get good results like this. Your star trails are sharp and precise but I question why the lower trails arch is different than the upper trails arch? The lighting accentuates the story. |

I think this is an outstanding image. I can understand the work and thought that went into it. The light hitting the bottles is just beautiful. I am with you, the labels would ruin the image and I like that the bottles are not all equal distant from each other. Your crop is perfect and the bottles have very nice colors and are sharp with nice definition. The background could possibly be better if it was a slightly out of focus but all in all I really like it. |

Bridget, excellent example of intentional motion blur. The slow shutter speed really made it happen without making it unrecognizable. Obviously she was late and racing for her subway car. I tried straightening the image and didn't like it at all. Love it the way you presented it. |

Jamie, I think you using selective focus, probably a big F-stop really worked in this image. The first foot or so is extremely sharp and then it fades to the horizon. The Hollyhock is amazing. The only thing that I feel could use some work is the bright bland sky. Hope you don't mind but I added a sky (not my best job) and I think it is better. What do you think? Does it take away from the gorgeous flowers? |

Richard, I think this is an amazing abstract!!! Would love to see the original. At first I thought it was large dabs of color or possibly even under water. Once I read your narrative, it really came to life looking over a cliff and into a volcano. The lower quarter is a great anchor for this image and the colors all blend beautifully. |

Have to agree with Jamie that the image is somewhat soft. I bet because of the lighting you had to shoot very slow. Still the image was caught at the peak of action and is perfectly cropped. |

Mike, really like this image of your flock heading home. Spotted the llama right away after our conversation on donkeys and llamas. The dust of the flock being kicked up is a great addition showing movement. I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty to add some foreground and to darken the road towards the end of the flock. This image has a good story and is very well exposed. |

Michele, gorgeous, gorgeous image. Extremely striking! Hate saying I wouldn't change a thing but I will say it anyway. I second all the Nigel said. Sorry Michele here comes the questions. How did you get this angle or view? Was it a rocky path to get there or a road? How on earth in 1692 did they get all the materials up there to build the Tiger Nest? Thanks Michele... |

John, aside from the minor horizon misalignment, which you've corrected, the composition is quite strong. The frame demonstrates an effective application of the rule of thirds along the horizontal axis, and the repeating patterns formed by the wave breaks and rocks introduce compelling visual rhythm and texture.
From a lighting standpoint, capturing this scene during golden hour (either early morning or late evening) would likely enhance tonal contrast, shadow definition, and overall dynamic range. That said, the absence of a singular focal anchor is not necessarily a limitation; many successful coastal and landscape compositions rely instead on distributed points of interest and emergent patterning to guide visual flow.
Overall, this is a well-executed rendering of an iconic Pacific Coast Highway vista, with solid compositional choices and strong environmental context.

Nigel, the Mateus Palace is outstanding. Your positioning for the shot is nearly perfect. I'm genuinely impressed that the sides of the building aren't skewed, though I suspect you may have corrected that in post. The sharpness and detail are excellent, and the colors feel very natural and true to life.
The only element that gives me pause is the sky. I experimented with adding clouds but didn't quite like the result, then tried darkening it, which might work-but I'm still unsure of the best approach there. |

Dennis, I really like this image. It has great visual impact and interest. Has great color, sharpness and definition. What is great about Digital Dialog is that everyone has their own opinions. I like the base area as a lead into the busy urban city image and the man holes don't bother me but the one thing that does is that cable / wire dead center of the image. Easy enough to remove. The smaller wires above are not objectionable. Great eye! |

Michele, the camera I use has huge dynamic range only .3 EV stops less than your awesome camera and I surmise that is why I could bring this image out of the darkness at all. I will definitely try doing what you and Nigel suggested with the dark background although the background as I remember was busy and ugly. As always thank you for all advice |
