Neal, this image is absolutely stunning! It has tremendous visual impact and draws the eye immediately. The colors are vibrant, the sharpness and detail are impeccable, and the composition is masterful. Every technical aspect comes together flawlessly-truly an outstanding piece of work. |

Pat, this is an outstanding image. Would love to know where you shot it. It has huge visual impact and interest. It is a strong composition and is perfectly cropped. Might tone down or eliminate the rock in the front right but other than that wouldn't change a thing. |

Pinaki, this is a gorgeous image. Last week I went to and art show and they had many pieces of art that were colored paper cuttings and this reminds me of one of a mountain range. This has great visual impact and the lighting accentuates the mood. Wouldn't change anything. |

Just love your pelican Susan. It has super impact and interest. It also has great color, sharpness and definition. We live in Key West, Florida six months out of the year and I have been actively shooting pelicans, trying to catch them diving with their bill just about to touch the water. No luck yet or at least nothing I would show anyone. |

Leslie, we used to live in Cape Coral, Florida, and there are thousands of these fascinating owls there! Some of the lots even have multiple burrows, and when the little ones are around, it's truly a sight to behold. They're incredibly smart and endlessly curious.
Your photo is fantastic. I really love how you captured the owl to the right of the burrow. It's so sharp, and those eyes are absolutely piercing. Great image. |

Mike, at first I thought your feather was a watercolor painting or even an abstract image. I really like it a lot-it's very original. Like Ted mentioned, it could even make a great wall hanging. It really has strong visual impact and keeps your interest. Nicely done! |

Ted, this is a really interesting image of a Black-necked Stilt. I love the way you captured it mid-step with one leg lifted - it adds a lot of life to the photo. Your crop works very nicely as well. The only small thing that caught my attention is the all-important eye. I tried a quick fix on it, though it probably wouldn't be considered legal in most PSA competitions. Overall, very nicely done! |

Veysi, this is a gorgeous high-key image. At first glance, I honestly thought it was an oil painting. I usually gravitate toward low-key images rather than high-key, but this one is truly outstanding. Your herons are exceptionally sharp and beautifully exposed, and the reflections in the shallow water add a wonderful touch. I wouldn't change a thing. |

Jim, this is without a doubt the best image of a grackle I've ever seen. Veysi's description was spot on. How much did you pay that bird to pose like that?
Seriously though-this is a gorgeous image. The depth of field is beautifully controlled: the bird is tack-sharp while everything in front of and behind it melts perfectly out of focus. That's not easy to pull off.
This image really has everything going for it. From my perspective, all the technical aspects are outstanding, and the result is simply stunning. |

Thank you for your comments Veysi. I liked all the action also. We were up in the Everglades a few days ago and there were a bunch of pelicans doing the same thing. Possibly to get cool, it was very hot. |

Sharlana, I really like the blur of the background. I feel it shows how fast the action really is. We go to barrel racing events and the action is fast and furious. I think you nailed it totally. Colors are very realistic and the horse and rider are tack sharp. Plenty of room in front of the horse to run. You've got a winner! |

Bridget, Wow! you can feel the cold! What was the title? I too, like this composition but I hope you don't mind I cropped some off of the right side. I felt that the post and some of the cars on the right just weren't needed. For a high key image you have very good tonality. This image instills reaction and I think you succeeded in your goal of isolation. |

tom, I really love this image. It is a strong composition and has a gorgeous center of interest. The tracks certainly lead your eye right to the street car. I did think the area above the trolly and the area to the far right are a slight bit light so I toned them down. I think it makes the trolly pop more. Well caught. |

Stewart, glad you went with monochrome. This image is perfectly cropped and communicates a message of action and the cold. Like the sun flare because it creates balance and a third center of interest. To me this is a well done composition and somewhat of a street image. |

Peggy, please don't be upset with me but I take this image completely different than the others. I have sailed my whole life and I see this image although beautifully done as Impending Doom. I see a beautiful sailboat with three people onboard, sailing along in relatively calm water with a huge tidal wave about to hit and capsize them. This image has huge visual impact on me. |

I think this is an outstanding image, Spring. You were incredibly fortunate to capture the pastel clouds so perfectly highlighting the mosque. The slow shutter speed works really well here-it softens the rough water, which might otherwise be a bit distracting. The mosque and the surrounding buildings are fascinating subjects, and the sky is simply beautiful. A very well-captured shot overall. |

Michele, I hate to say this but I love the original. The monochrome is very good but just doesn't pop like the color image. I look at the color image and think "The City of Gold". Both images are are composed perfectly and and all technical aspects to me are outstanding. |

Dennis, I absolutely love this image. Your decision to use a slow shutter speed was excellent-the blurred river taxi adds a real sense of motion while the rest of the scene remains nicely in focus. The colors are vibrant, and the diagonal line of the canal creates a strong visual path that leads the viewer beautifully through the city. Honestly, I wouldn't change a thing. |

Michele, thank you for your comments. My parents loved Williamsburg and I can still remember going there many times when I was a child. The restored area was in very poor condition, nothing like today. I can remember at Christmas time going behind the Capitol and they had trays and trays of cookies and hot cider free for the taking. |
