1 Apr 25 Comment Than Sinn, this is a very interesting and colorful image that really tells a story. It is perfectly cropped and has sharpness in critical areas. The expression on her face is amazing. Well done. Apr 16th

2 Apr 25 Comment Martin, perfectly cropped image that really tells a story. His facial concentration and her body language was caught at the perfect moment. This is definitely a strong composition. Apr 18th
2 Apr 25 Comment Jim, your image has very good visual impact and interest. If you were going to crop the side I wouldn't take much off, your subject is large enough. The brighter legs really do help. Nice work Jim. Apr 17th

4 Apr 25 Comment Gary, most of us locals have been drawn to this cylinder, but I really like the angle that you have taken this image from. Perfect crop and monochrome really makes it. Apr 18th
4 Apr 25 Comment Isaac, this is a comical shot caught at the perfect moment. The green frame drives your eye right to the pizza cook. Really enjoyed it! Apr 18th

5 Apr 25 Comment Xiao Cai, your Tufted Titmouse is absolutely stunning and sharp. You caught him in a perfect pose. I hope you don't mind but I think that some of the branches and sticks like Pete mentioned are distracting. I took the liberty of getting rid of the branches and tried a 180 flip to create a leading line branch. I do know that in PSA Competitions you are not allowed to do this. What do you think? Apr 18th
5 Apr 25 Comment Pete, being a boater since I was a small child, I instantly loved your image. We also love going to Ocracoke. For me your image has great visual impact and interest. Your original colors are good but the colors and detail of your reworked image is super. The wake is a good leading line to the boat and the rock spit of land creates a good balance. Apr 18th

6 Apr 25 Comment Ruth, I guess I am the exception. I love low key and simplicity. Your Sand Dollars are a great example of the strength of simplicity. Very slight focus issue but very well done. Apr 18th

8 Apr 25 Comment Pinaki, This is an strong portrait and the lighting accentuates the story. It also has great tonality. The only thing that bothers me is that huge white screen that pulls your eye away from Badal Sircar. I cropped it out and to me it made a much stronger image. Apr 20th
8 Apr 25 Comment Aishwarya, your image of a White-throated Kingfisher is outstanding. It is sharp as a tack and the slight forward turn of the head with a fish in it beak really makes it. I do feel that there is too much room in front of the bird so I took the liberty and cropped it slightly. What do you think? Apr 20th

9 Apr 25 Comment Jim, absolutely a gorgeous group of waterfalls. Your choice of vantage point although high was perfect. Such a great landscape the only thing that bothers me is the bridge. Cropped it out. What do you think? Apr 20th

10 Apr 25 Comment Mark, being a fan of low key images, I really like this. I love the simplicity and detail. Like Donna's also. I did a horizontal flip to make the branch a leading line rather than taking you out of the image. Well done. Apr 20th

14 Apr 25 Comment Tom, definitely like the B&W cityscape. It almost has a mystical feel to it. The color image looks to be a record shot. Like the way you shaded the sky to look like a storm cloud. The one bright window in the top left gives some intrigue. You image has good tonality and the lighting really sets the mood. Apr 20th
14 Apr 25 Comment Ingred, excellent example of the strength of simplicity. Love this image. Diagonal lines are very interesting, snow was handles very well and the whole image is quite striking! Apr 20th

15 Apr 25 Comment Sarita, we see this display at many of the Florida rookeries in the spring and it never disappoints. Question why you would use auto ISO, or an ISO this high unless you were in very low light. Nonetheless it is an excellent image. Your work in the shadow area of the bird is super. Apr 20th

17 Apr 25 Comment Suzanne, Your birds are tack sharp and very detailed and just love the detailed growth on the branch. Where I am torn is if you crop the right hand bird you will loose the story but still have an excellent image of the left hand bird. I use a Z8 and D850 and have never had noise issues at ISO 5000 or even a little higher. Super image though. Apr 25th

21 Apr 25 Reply Hi Gary, thank you for your kind comments. Kathy and I were there for three days just prior to your visit. Hope to get back there after the Birding Festival, just too chaotic this whole week. Apr 25th
21 Apr 25 Reply Thank you Mike, once in a while you get lucky. Apr 18th
21 Apr 25 Reply Mike, I can't find the chick either? Apr 18th
21 Apr 25 Reply We just got back from the Alligator Farm and and the mating season is in full swing, nests with chicks and with eggs are everywhere. Loaded with Little Blue Herons, Tri-colored Herons, Wood Storks, Great Egrets, Cattle Egrets, Snowy Egrets and Spoonbills. Definitely worth going. Apr 13th
21 Apr 25 Comment Many have asked what is the Alligator Farm in Saint Augustine FL? It is a large zoo type area that has many alligators, crocodiles and birds. The main draw for bird photographers is that is that it has huge rookery where the birds are protected from predators by a hundred plus alligators in the water and on the land below the trees. There is a long boardwalk through the rookery where many of the nests are inches away. This image is compressed by my telephoto. Click on the image. Apr 11th
21 Apr 25 Comment Mike, this is a comical nature shot. I read it that the left Goose is very vocally telling the right Goose off! And the right Goose thinking I have heard all that before! Very sharp head shots and nothing distracting in the image. Really like it. Apr 7th
21 Apr 25 Comment Beautiful image Leslie. The Oystercatchers are super sharp. I might have cropped a little water off the top but that is just a personal preference. Great concentration stance and the eyes really pop. Excellent. Apr 7th
21 Apr 25 Comment Ron, this is a real human nature shot. Catching the Warbler looking right at you is super and the gentleman adoring the small bird is touching. I cropped the lower portion of the image to get rid of the distracting hand. Great catch. Apr 7th
21 Apr 25 Comment Don, I think your dehaze and negative color temperature correction made a huge difference. I found the first image to be somewhat flat and very close to being a monochrome image. The lower image is so much better. I have never seen a Tundra swan and it is a very impressive bird. Apr 7th
21 Apr 25 Comment Absolutely a perfect shot of a Song Sparrow Jim. Love the lead in with the branch that brings you directly to the sparrow. Lighting is perfect and accentuates the bird and the background is non distracting. Can't be any better than this. Apr 7th
21 Apr 25 Reply Don, thanks for looking in and also your comments. Apr 7th
21 Apr 25 Reply Jim, thank you for your comments. The amazing thing Jim, is that this nests and action are no more than 3 to 20 feet from you and some over your head. There is so much action that you may have to duck from being hit by big birds and many photographers wear wide brim hats for obvious reasons. Apr 7th
21 Apr 25 Reply Leslie, thank you for your comments. They are a crazy looking bunch aren't they? They are also very noisy and very active. Apr 7th
21 Apr 25 Reply Isaac, thank you very much for the Alligator Farm Rookery update. We are heading over Wednesday or Thursday. The next month and a half should be outstanding. Apr 7th
21 Apr 25 Reply Hi Ted, thank you for your comments. I do wish the leaves in front of the chicks waren't there but I don't think I can remove them per PSA Nature rules. Apr 4th

48 Apr 25 Reply Jamie, thank you for your comment. I just feel like it needs something. Apr 25th
48 Apr 25 Reply Ted, I wholeheartedly agree. A campfire or some steam coming off the cup would definitely improve the image. Apr 18th
48 Apr 25 Comment Stewart, where is your title and write-up? I really feel your image needed some pizazz so I added a sky that somewhat tied into the succulent. Apr 9th
48 Apr 25 Reply Richard, still working on putting steam into the cup. Not so easy to make it look half way real. Work in progress. Apr 7th
48 Apr 25 Comment Bev, in Key West once a year they have a chalk mural contest. On one of the piers they give each artist about 25 square feet and a couple of days to complete their work. Your image reminded me of this event. People are so talented!!! Apr 7th
48 Apr 25 Comment Jamie, why no title or write-up? Very nice image of Daisies. Like the one you worked on best. The bee and bug add interest. Very sharp and colorful and your background is soft and non distracting. Nice. Apr 7th
48 Apr 25 Comment Donald, very interesting image. At first, I said to myself wow that orange really takes over the whole image but the more I looked at it the blossom took over. Not going to say I like it but the vignetted orange does move you right to the blossom. Different! Apr 7th
48 Apr 25 Reply Stewart, thank you for your input. I see what you mean about the bokeh in the background. Possibly if I darken it it would help. Apr 4th
48 Apr 25 Reply Richard, I really like your idea of some steam coming off of the cup. It would make this image much more interesting. Will work on it. Thank you. Apr 4th
48 Apr 25 Comment Richard, love the simplicity and detail. It also has great color, sharpness and definition. Great eye! Apr 2nd
48 Apr 25 Comment Bev, this is an award winning image. Cropping is perfect. The lighting accentuates the story. The colors are perfect and it is a strong composition. Apr 2nd

71 Apr 25 Reply Nigel, six month out of the year we live is Key West, Floida and we are loaded with lobster pot and stone crab traps. I have had to go in the water under the boat more than once to untangle or cut trap lines from the propeller or shaft. Not fun. Navigating at night is certainly risky. Apr 19th
71 Apr 25 Comment Mike, took Michele's suggestion and added some space above the horns and I think it made a big difference. Apr 19th
71 Apr 25 Reply Very very interesting Nigel. Apr 13th
71 Apr 25 Reply Nigel, Maine is known for its lobsters. You will find thousands upon thousands of these lobster buoys with traps or pots on the bottom everywhere. Apr 13th
71 Apr 25 Comment Very nice pano Nigel. Really like the expanse of low tide beach and the sky is perfect. What is the large radish brown walkway that parallels the shoreline on the North and West coasts? Looked on Google Earth. Great perspective on the size of the town compared to the mountain. I noticed the horizon line is way off looking at the ocean but I think I still like your version best. All colors are very realistic. Well done. Apr 12th
71 Apr 25 Reply Mike, thank you for your comments. Sometimes you luck out and for me the evening light was just beautiful. Apr 7th
71 Apr 25 Reply Michele, thank you for your kind comments. I really like the way the sails were lit against the mountains. Apr 7th
71 Apr 25 Comment Mike, really like this image. The grass makes a perfect background and how you ever caught three giant steers lined up in a perfect pose is amazing. Crop is good and the image is certainly interesting. Apr 7th
71 Apr 25 Comment Michele, this is an amazing image especially taken through a jet window. I looked for reflections and distortions and there are none. Your editing really brought out the surrounding jagged mountains and terrain. Michele you are also an excellent writer. I always enjoy your composition about your image. Beautiful image. Apr 2nd
