1 Mar 25 Comment Dr. Thompson, this is a very vivid painterly image and I like it a lot! The two people looking upstream give you a focal point and with out them the bridge would the focal point but the people make it a much stronger image. It is sharp front to back and I wouldn't change a thing. Mar 6th

5 Mar 25 Comment Richard, I really like this landscape. I feel that it is really five or six interesting horizontal layers and the offset barn really makes it. Your crop is perfect and the sharpness and clarity is excellent. Might just tone down the roof of the barn slightly but nothing else. Mar 7th
5 Mar 25 Comment Pete, you can feel the hurt rolling around inside this Vet. This image has great visual impact and interest, and certainly communicates a message. I also think B&W was the way to go. I might clone out Army on his jacket. Excellent! Mar 6th

7 Mar 25 Comment Butch, I am not a portrait photographer either but I really like what you have done with Ilona. Skin tone, colors and balance are excellent. I also like that you didn't go totally black on your low key background. The pose is also quite striking. The only minor minor thing I would fix is just above her lower gold bracelet there are two small dark spots that I would remove. Super image. Mar 6th

8 Mar 25 Comment Alastair, your headlight image really shows the strength of simplicity. It has visual impact and interest. Great eye for catching something unusual. Mar 12th
8 Mar 25 Comment Pinaki, this is an excellent Death Valley Landscape. I love the way all the light colored ridges and valleys lead your eye right to the top dark ridge. Gives a real feeling of depth. The lighting accentuates the story and it has very good tonality. Mar 7th

9 Mar 25 Comment Sabine, outstanding image of a Kingfisher. Spectacularly beautiful! Our North American Kingfishers in the US are normally just black and white. I also like Jim's crop that gets rid of the distracting upper and lower branches on the right side. Your image couldn't be any sharper and having the fish gives it great visual impact. Mar 9th
9 Mar 25 Comment Linda , great eye to see this very interesting image. The light through the above glass is very interesting but the silhouettes of the people really make it. There are no distracting elements in the frame, is perfectly cropped and is a strong composition. Mar 7th

16 Mar 25 Comment Terry, I really like your power house portrait of an engine. I too like the blue hue. I tried cropping a little off the left side but did't like it. For me your engine has good visual impact, interest and is very sharp. Mar 12th

21 Mar 25 Reply Ted, thank you so much for your kind words. I will definitely work on the feet. That is why the DDG is excellent. It is so easy to miss items that could make your image far better. Mar 17th
21 Mar 25 Reply Jim, I really like what you did in removing that vegetation. Many of the competitions or salons I enter don't allow any changes with nature though. For an image to hang on the wall, it would definitely be like your edit. Thank you. Mar 5th
21 Mar 25 Reply Thank you for your very kind comment. These spoonbills were so close to us that quite honestly many images (deletes) were heads or tails. I rarely use continuous high speed shutter, but to get these it was a must. Mar 2nd
21 Mar 25 Reply Thanks Michael, a week ago at Orlando Wetlands, we had gorgeous light and many Spoonbills gathering nest material. Mar 2nd
21 Mar 25 Comment Leslie, this image communicates a message of COLD and is very close to being a high key image. The yappy female definitely tells a story and gets the message across witch I surmise is that someone has food. This is a whimsical maybe comical image. Mar 1st
21 Mar 25 Comment Mike, your goosander is a perfectly cropped excellent composition and all technical aspects to me are outstanding. The lighting accentuates the mood and the bird pushing through the gold water with a blue wake really makes it. Mar 1st
21 Mar 25 Comment Jim, I can't give you the answer that you want. Both images are gorgeous in their own right. The close up looks like a fine art image with exquisite detail and the other a portrait with almost a low key background. Both are excellent. Mar 1st
21 Mar 25 Comment Michael, super, tack sharp image. Great action and colors are right on and vivid. Excellent non distracting soft background but I just felt there was too much of it so I did a crop. What do you think? Mar 1st

23 Mar 25 Comment Marilyn, really like your "Ride em Cowboy". You caught it at the peak of action and there are no distracting elements in the frame. Nice sharp image for a fast and furious action shot. Mar 12th

24 Mar 25 Comment Bev, beautiful image of an phalaenopsis orchid. I feel the background is too light and over powers the orchid. I toned the background down and I think it makes the orchid pop. Mar 12th

48 Mar 25 Reply Richard , will definitely take your suggestion and work on the eyes. Eyes are so important and I didn't really like the way his eyes turned out. Thank you. Mar 11th
48 Mar 25 Reply Don, it is definitely a good idea to check out some of these reenactments. They take it very seriously and most play their part to the nth degree. Many great character shots. Mar 6th
48 Mar 25 Comment Donald, was this taken a few years back a New England Camera Council Conference?
I really like it! If it was flat calm water it would be nice but I think the ripples really make it. Great colors and they really pop. Super abstract image.

48 Mar 25 Reply Thank you Bev. I think it definitely needed it. Mar 2nd
48 Mar 25 Reply With this image, I wish you were in My Bird group but # 21. Mar 1st
48 Mar 25 Comment Bev, great human interest shot but I just didn't think it looked real. I put it in photo shop and did some cloning and I feel now it looks more realistic. What do you think? Mar 1st
48 Mar 25 Comment Richard, your image has strong visual impact and was certainly caught at the peak of action. I like both images but I really prefer the color image in this case and the reason is that the splash takes over prominence in the monochrome version. I could be wrong but the bird with the fish is an Anhinga and the chaser is a Cormorant. Super image! Mar 1st

71 Mar 25 Comment Spring, I am one that likes old, rustic and abandoned objects but this house although catching my eye needed something. That's how I had the idea to use anything of color to make it interesting. Thank you for your comments. Mar 9th
71 Mar 25 Comment Mike , I think many will say this is a very soft image but I think the fog, mist and softness really sets the mood. Image is well composed and a very original approach. Mar 4th
71 Mar 25 Reply Mike, thank you for your comments. In all color I didn't like it and in B&W I also didn't like it. A few little tricks and some time made it a lot better. Mar 4th
71 Mar 25 Comment Michele, many great images are made because we wait for the sun or moon. I tell many people to wait till after the sunset and the sky might possibly explode with color. By waiting for the moon I think you got a very nice image and with your PS expertise were able to bring out and lighten the shadows on the cliffs. Many of your images (don't think that I am crazy) I go to google earth and figure out where you shot the image and read a little history. Did you shoot this image from a boat or that spit of almost inaccessible land at the bottom of the google earth frame? I like the highlight behind the lighthouse and the reflection on the water from the lighthouse beacon. Spain seems like an amazing country to visit and photograph. Mar 2nd
71 Mar 25 Comment Spring, I love this image. The sea / landscape is has gorgeous colors and reflections. Some are going to say that they would like more detail in the model and her reflection but I like the silhouette. There are no distracting elements in the frame and the lighting certainly accentuates the mood. Mar 2nd
71 Mar 25 Comment John, your image has good visual impact and interest. You can almost feel the heat of the day. I like the surfer and the sun in the center of the image and do wish there was more detail in the waves but with a huge bright back lit sun it was probably impossible. Very nice. Mar 1st
