Don, you caught this cormorant at the peak of action. Great job freezing the action and having the sharpness where needed. I hope you don't mind , I cropped it a little more and used haze removal and I think by doing this it makes the action and bird more prominent. Great catch. |

Thanks Michael. Always want picky. I compete a lot and judges are picky to extremes. Will clean up the water. |

Michael, you and Leslie really come up with amazing unusual birds. This one is no exception. Has great impact and interest. I did feel it is a stronger image by cropping a little of the right side. This is a excellent composition and is quite striking. |

Leslie, to spot a very rare and unusual bird my bets would always be on you. This Emerald Toucanet is perfectly framed and exposure is right on. Would have liked to have it without the branch but I'm sure you only had seconds to get it at all. Wish the sky could have slightly darker. Great color, sharpness and definition of the bird. |

Mike, I love this double triptych image. All are sharp, good eyes, perfectly framed and tell a story beginning to end. This is a Wow! Very original approach. |

Marilyn, super in every way. To suggest anything to make this better would be absurd. Very well done. |

Sylvia, I really prefer the original low key version. The dark stripes are distracting. Possibly the images are reversed and the original low key version is the finished version which is super. I think it pops with the black background. Wish you could see the other eye but I know owls are hard to shoot. |

Maria, excellent image of a Silvereye. What you did with the background is absolutely masterful. Excellent composition, and all technical aspects to me are outstanding. |

Stewart, thank you for your comment. I know photoshop does a very good job doing composites but I still do it the old way. I blow the image up huge and then go all the way around the inserted object and fix, blend, smooth or paint to make it look as real as possible. Time consuming but it works. |

Stewart, the crop of this seascape is very nice but it is just too dark and not a lot of detail. Your f stop of 2.2 was not conducive to much depth of field. Jamie's fix was excellent. She really brought this image back. |

Richard, Donald and Jamie, the story behind this image is that one of the Camera Clubs that I compete in has one required and 3 open images each month. The required for that month was creative. I had remembered the elephant wall from one of our visits to Cuba and then I happened to remember the thousands of images of body painted people from a yearly Halloween event (Fantasy Fest) in Key West, Florida. I was going through some of these VERY risqué images when I saw this woman. Sandwiched her in PS and thought it looked fair. I do not do much creative photography but this one has done very well. Fantasy Fest is a week long event where if you like photographing people, this is the place for you. Everyone wants to be photographed! |

Jamie, I keep coming back to your image. I also love the way the horses have a halo almost like they are a ghost heard. |

Bev, this little girl is cute as a button. Your timing for the image was perfect. I know you are a master with backgrounds and if this is one you added it is very good and non distracting. The lighting accentuates the story. I always look for catchlight in the eyes and they are there. Very nice. |

Janie, Great image of a koala and its young. To have catch lights in the baby eyes and to have it looking directly at you is a real plus. Agreed with Richard that some of the background was distracting so I darkened it (Hope you don't mind) and I think it did make the koalas pop. Well done. |

Richard, this image holds dear to me. I have a very similar image of my father in WW2 on a camel in this same position. Hope you don't mind that I removed two recent objects from the frame. This is an iconic image well captured. |

Donald, Like the image being B&W and being smack dab in the middle. Good visual impact and interest. Have you ever been to Old Car City in White, Georgia. You would love it but plan to spend a day or more there. |

Jamie, really like the sepia / antique toning of this image. Richard is exactly right about this image having an ethereal feel to it. The lighting certainly accentuates the story. How did you manage to get them all looking? Was there feed involved? Super. |

Mike, my goal was to keep to the rule of thirds somewhat with the fair sky, the colorful buildings through the center and the flat reflective water. Could possibly crop a little more water from the bottom. I welcome your comments. |

John, I understand what Nigel is saying but if you crop it you would loose that large cloud that is sort of a lead in and keeps it in thirds. I cropped the image to get a true comparison. After the crop and have to say the image is so sharp that I am now leaning towards the cropped image. Both images are excellent but I think the cropped image has more impact. |

Spring, this is an outstanding image. I really like the way the rocky ridges lead you in from the lower left to the subject which is the center and to the right of center. There are no distracting elements and it has great visual impact and interest. |

Mike, very interesting image. I like the crop but probably would have preferred the boys shoes to be in the image but not absolutely necessary. The image tells a good story and leaves me wanting to see more images of the actual sheering of the goats. Very good use of colors. |

Michele, this image with the slight adjustment to to tint should be entered in one of the many Salons. To me it is a sure thing for a star. This image is very striking, perfectly cropped and is a very strong composition. The earth tones in the lower left drive you right towards the bridge and then onto the hermitage. I found it so interesting that I have researched much of its history and found it extremely facinating. |

Dr. Barsi, this is an outstanding image. You caught it at the peak of action. The clarity and sharpness couldn't be any better. Very surprised that at 1/250th of a second that it is so very sharp. Very non distracting background. One element in the frame I do find distracting is that vertical branch. I found my eye going back and forth from the Kestrels to the branch. Hope you don't mind but I removed it. What do you think? |
