Michael, I thought the close-up of the head and breast was more striking than the whole bird. |

Thanks Leslie. Many of these birds are found down around Lake Okeechobee FL. They are actually in the falcon family. |

I hope Leslie won't min me sharing a writeup and images that she wrote about turkeys. My wife and I found it extremely interesting. A stupid question Leslie. Is the turkey above in mating plumage or do the males always look big with all that color?

Michael, excellent spoonbill. Very sharp and dark but still good detail under the wing. Very realistic. Don't you love the Saint Augustine Alligator Farm. Can do without the gators but the rookery is amazing March thru May. We are so lucky it is only an hour and a half away. |

Ron, very unique perfectly caught position of the Egret. Non distracting background except the and orange and blue spot above the neck which I removed. The lighting nicely accentuates the story. |

Don, I like the featureless snowy background as Ron said. Any lighter it would tend to get blown out and darker it wouldn't look like snow. We have many cardinal here in Florida year round and the female can look vivid to drab. Very nice, very sharp image. |

Leslie, might be a bad month for turkeys but this guy is beautiful. Do they really roam free. The slight turn of his head and the amazing detail and color is super. Perfect framing also. Wouldn't change a thing. |

Mike, three outstanding images of a Great Blue Heron and presented superbly in a triptych. They have great visual impact and interest, perfectly cropped and shows real technical proficiency. |

Richard, thank you for your comments. The triangles in the upper corners I contemplated getting rid of, but I was afraid people would not understand it was a bridge and the upper railings helped to show it. It is still a work in progress. |

Donald, thank you for your comments. It was a bright day and using photoshop to dehaze and tone down somewhat helped to make this image. Still trying different things to improve it. |

Stewart, thank you for your comments. I did try after you mentioned brightness and contrast and it did bring out the colors more. I also put it into a HDR program and that did all kinds of things to the colors. Thanks again. |

Janie, thank you for your comments. Don't know if the park and bridge were lit at night but I agree with you it might be spectacular. |

Don, being a lover of New England and B&W this is my kind of image. Do agree with others that the horizon is a little close to center but I feel it is off enough not to bother anyone. The only thing I wish was that the three trawlers were totally separated. I am a firm believer that if there are three centers of interest then your eyes would take in the whole image but with two your eyes are back and forth. Realize the wind and currents were probably fighting you. Still a very nice image. |

Bev, I like the composition and the feeling it is flying over the tree tops. Not sure if you added the sky but if you did it is perfect, if not still perfect. The only thing disturbing is the white of the far wing and top of the Wood Stork. There is no detail. Hope you don't mind but I cloned in some feather detail. |

Stewart, very interesting composition. The lighting accentuates the mood. I too wish the center of interest which is the Buddha was turned around facing the camera or facing left. |

Thanks Michele. I really want to get there in full fall color. Have been too early or too late. We have stayed in the cabins there several times but not cabin 13 which has a horrible past. |

John, gorgeous cityscape. Sky, buildings, foreground trees create a frame that pulls you right into the S turn river. The river is slightly bright but it helps the image to pop. I did get rid of the cranes and also a half steeple of a church that was cut off on the left that were distracting. |

Michele, absolutely an amazing image. The lake and sky are beautiful and enough but to have Comet Atlas was just amazing. Did you know it would be visible? Your slight exposure increase was necessary and made it a very dynamic image. |

Mike, this Charro Ewe really has personality. The most important feature is the eyes and they are tack sharp. Very nice earth tone golden glow of the ewe and background and the crop is perfect. |

Thank you Mike for your positive comments. I have always wanted to go there when the leave are changing but as of yet have not made it. Also during the spring thaw there are times when there's is a huge amount of water cascading through this area which could be quite dramatic. |
