9 Apr 24 Comment Very nice image Jim, I like the way you softened the water yet kept the reflections of the turtles. The turtles are tack sharp and look as though they are challenging each other. Very nice image. Apr 22nd

21 Apr 24 Reply Don, thank you for your comments. The Better Beamer definitely works, although very light weight, I just wish it wasn't so big and cumbersome. Next time. Apr 22nd
21 Apr 24 Reply Thanks Mike for your comments. I tried lightening the underside and it turned a milky color so I left well enough alone. Apr 22nd
21 Apr 24 Reply Thanks for your comments Ron. I do wish I had more detail on the underside of the bird but when the action is fast and furious you take what you can get. Apr 16th
21 Apr 24 Comment Don, I tried some Aurora magic. Like Leslie said, they needed to be peped up a little. What do you think? Apr 6th
21 Apr 24 Reply No, but should have! Apr 3rd
21 Apr 24 Comment Gabriele, have never seen a Pelican with such beautiful colors. Ours in South Florida are tones of white, gray and black. Good story with the mouth full of fish. Apr 3rd
21 Apr 24 Comment Mike, you certainly caught these Graylags at the peak of action. Great visual impact and interest. Like Michael said , it could be toned down just a little. Apr 3rd
21 Apr 24 Comment Leslie, in my book this is a near perfect image. Outstanding! Apr 3rd
21 Apr 24 Reply Thanks Michael, I do wish I could have gotten more detail under the Anhingas breast. Apr 3rd
21 Apr 24 Comment Michael, gorgeous image of a beautiful bird. The lead in branch and the turn of the head is super. The background green by the breast is slightly hot a could be toned down just slightly. Only thing I can find with a bit of research is that it is a male. Well done. Apr 2nd

48 Apr 24 Comment Donald, this is absolutely beautiful! Wish I could say I would change this or that but I can't. Wouldn't change a thing. Very well done . Apr 22nd
48 Apr 24 Comment Lloyd, love the idea of shooting an abstract image like this. A few years back I shot a very similar image of a Swiss Chess Plant and it actually to my amazement won a photo contest at Naples Zoo. I do think it is a little flat so I went enhanced it, but maybe too much. What do you think? Apr 22nd
48 Apr 24 Reply Lloyd, I was shooting 6 frames a second and my delete ratio was about 10 bad images to a good one. Lot of fun but it was fast and furious! Apr 6th
48 Apr 24 Reply Jamie, these cyclists are crazy. You cannot believe what they do 30 plus feet in the air. Amazing! Apr 6th
48 Apr 24 Reply Thanks Donald, panning is easier said than done. A lot of deletes and a few good ones. Apr 6th
48 Apr 24 Reply Thanks Jim, I shot hundreds of images of these daredevils. At times they were totally off the bike with only one hand on the handlebars. NOT FOR ME!! Apr 6th
48 Apr 24 Reply OK Jamie! You caught me! I did photoshop a deers butt into Bev's image. I have this issue about anything that is cut off. Probably could have done a better job. Apr 5th
48 Apr 24 Comment Jamie, love this image! Love the way the stems and Stamens lead you right to the butterfly or moth. All the colors are beautiful. I tried a tighter crop but didn't like it. Very well done. Apr 4th
48 Apr 24 Comment Bev, great title because it does look like you are peeking into their quiet tranquil realm. I did think the left side was a little over exposed so I worked on it a little in PS. What do you think? Apr 3rd
48 Apr 24 Comment Paul, the prairie is gorgeous and your accompanying story was extremely interesting. Now please don't shoot the messenger but I feel the color of the mountains was off. Having never been there I can't say truthfully if it was or not but I did experiment little. What do you think? Apr 2nd

71 Apr 24 Reply John, I agree with you but I had deep water to the left of me so I couldn't move in that direction. Next time I will plan it better. Thank you for your comments. Apr 22nd
71 Apr 24 Reply Michele, you are definitely right about Photopills. I fight it continuously on my iPhone. Tried it with less water and definitely like it better. Thank you for your comments. Apr 22nd
71 Apr 24 Reply Ryan, I like the lower f-stop also. It really makes for a very interesting image. That is a beautiful landscape. I honestly struggle with landscapes. I have had it beat into me that you have to have a defined center of interest or subject and I shy away from a lot of landscapes. Apr 15th
71 Apr 24 Comment Theresa, really like this image. It really gives the feel of a watercolor and being deep in the forest. The center of interest tree is sharp and the fade is very natural. Well done. Apr 13th
71 Apr 24 Reply Mike, I use PhotoPills to help with my timing. It is a great app on your phone to aid you with sun, moon, blue hour and golden hour. Thank your ou for your comments. Apr 6th
71 Apr 24 Reply Thanks Jim for your comments. I prefer the original also. The sun went behind a cloud bank and minutes later it was dark. Apr 6th
71 Apr 24 Comment Mike, this is a beautiful composition and is perfectly cropped. I too like the earth tone colors but what I like best is the positioning and turn of the head of your cardinal. Apr 3rd
71 Apr 24 Comment Ryan, very nice well cropped balanced composition. Love the way the sharp foreground fades off into the fog. Looks like a bird at the top of one tree which adds a point of interest. Great color, sharpness and definition. Apr 3rd
71 Apr 24 Comment Michele, This is a beautiful image and is perfectly cropped. At first I thought you cut off part of the barn but with closer inspection you did not. I to think it is slightly over saturated but I am one that likes the deeper colors if they are realistic. Good luck with your new camera. The files must be huge. Apr 3rd
71 Apr 24 Comment Mike, you are absolutely right. Tried lightening the shadows and I think it is better. Still wanted to keep them some what dark due to the deep shadows. What do you think? Apr 2nd

97 Apr 24 Comment Peter, breathtaking image of a Bee-eater. Amazing color and sharpness! You caught it at the peak of action. Hope you don't mind but the branch pulled my eye away from the bird so I removed it. Also like Kathleen's cropped image. Welcome to the DDG. Well done. Apr 6th
