21 Mar 24 Comment Mike, thank you for your comments. Do get lucky on occasion. Mar 15th
21 Mar 24 Reply Leslie, thank you for your gracious comments. Mar 12th
21 Mar 24 Reply Very easy Ron. May not look great in all cases. I do a drag to crop in PS then before I execute I drag the edge that I want to expand then execute. This creates a void. Then with the Lasso Tool I circle it and a small bit of the original frame. Then go to content aware and let it do its magic. You can also clone into the void. Mar 11th
21 Mar 24 Reply Ron, I thought about taking that curvy stick out also but it is part of the nest construction story. Mar 11th
21 Mar 24 Comment Mike, your image displays the peak of action and is definitely telling a story of the nest building Gray Herons. Nice crop and very good fore and back grounds. Like Michael said, I think the heron on the left is very blue and the whole image has a slight blue tint to it. Mar 9th
21 Mar 24 Comment Michael, love your Ring-Necked Duck Hen. In my opinion a perfect crop and positioning of the duck. Glassy water and tack sharp reflection a real plus. Very well done Mar 9th
21 Mar 24 Comment Gabriele, outstanding Juvenile Cooper's Hawk. I am amazed how he almost disappears into the background. The catch of his prey is definitely an added benefit. I did feel that if the background was slightly darker the Hawk would stand out a little better but didn't want to loose the camouflage feeling. Mar 9th
21 Mar 24 Comment Don, picture perfect American Tree Sparrow. Love the background and how you caught him clearly and unobstructed in the web of branches. Super sharp and love the turn of the head. Wouldn't change a thing. Well done. Mar 9th
21 Mar 24 Comment Ron, you caught this Red-Bellied Woodpecker at the perfect moment! Love the turn of the head, it really made this image. Perfect branch leading line. Just my opinion but I thought the sky was just too bright. I toned it down and cloned a few areas. What do you think? Mar 9th
21 Mar 24 Comment Hi Leslie, love your Collared Aracari. We where in Costa Rica a few years ago and it amazed us that there were magnificent birds like this in trees and flying everywhere. The layout with the branch and his posture is super. Background couldn't be any better. The only thing I would change is the leave that extends out of the image and I feel it needs a little space on the top. Mar 7th

46 Mar 24 Comment Marilyn, Probably the sharpest image I have ever seen on the DDG. Beautiful! Very nice non distracting background. Love the slight twist of the head. Not sure that you can enter it in your club due to the hand of man green rail. My club goes by PSA Nature rules and would not allow it. Mar 11th
46 Mar 24 Comment Maria, excellent image of this Australian Dater. Looks like a hard working bird and the twist of the neck is super. Here in the Florida Keys we have a very similar bird called the Anhinga or Snake Bird. Like your very non distracting background and agree with Marilyn that possibly you could lighten und the wings slightly. Mar 11th
46 Mar 24 Comment Xiao, love this image. Sharpness of the Mockingbird, turn of the head and layout in the branches are super. The only thing that bothered me were the light stripes near and above the bird. Edited a little. What do you think? Mar 7th

48 Mar 24 Comment Don, excellent action shot. Love the way the horses feet are in the air. What is the person behind the horse on? Little skis or just boots? You caught them with a smile on their faces. Image certainly displays peak of action. Mar 9th
48 Mar 24 Comment Lloyd, very nice image. It is a perfect example of a balanced composition. The edited version is super and the lighting accentuates the mood. Mar 9th
48 Mar 24 Comment Jamie, I think this image communicates your message and the steps and lighting accentuates your story. Very peaceful and serene. Well done. Mar 9th
48 Mar 24 Reply Thank you Bev. It received a second place. If I had seen and done Lloyds recommendation it may have done even better. Mar 9th
48 Mar 24 Comment Paul, the building has nice visual impact and interest. The tower leaning to the left and the light pole leaning to the right is a distraction. I adjusted with transform and skew in PS and possibly less noticeable. Very pleasing sky. Mar 9th
48 Mar 24 Reply Lloyd, thank you so much on pointing out the halo. Never saw it. Do you think this is better? Mar 7th
48 Mar 24 Comment Bev, absolutely a gorgeous image! Love the earth-tones and mellow colors of the entire image. Would clone out the one very small quarter moon shape hot spot in the middle of the clump of trees. Looks like a real golden hour image. Very well done. Mar 5th

71 Mar 24 Comment Beautiful tree Nigel. Hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of removing a shadow that seemed to bother some of us. I understand many of the cobble stones are laid to create patterns and are beautiful. What do you think? Any better? Mar 17th
71 Mar 24 Reply Hi John, that Nikkor 28-300 lens is a very flexible lens. I use it when I want to travel with no other lenses. I won't tell you it is the very sharpest lens at all mm but it is very good. Thanks for your comments. Mar 11th
71 Mar 24 Comment Very interesting image John. It is a strong composition. Since the lighting accentuates the story I did adjust the shadows and blacks. What do you think? Mar 10th
71 Mar 24 Comment Super image Mike. I can see why you liked it. Another good name could be the Guardian. Strong composition with a good story. Perfectly cropped. Well done. Mar 10th
71 Mar 24 Comment Mike and Nigel, thank you for your comments and suggestions. This image has more work on the clouds and some color corrections. Seems to have gone from warm to cool. Work in progress. What do you think? Mar 7th
71 Mar 24 Reply Glad you explained the cobbles Nigel. Makes the shadows very understandable. Thank you. Mar 7th
71 Mar 24 Reply Beautiful light and catch Michele. Mar 3rd
71 Mar 24 Comment Love the three cabins and reflections. What is with the story with the code flags on the windows. UF FD AH ?? This is a beautiful image but the only thing that bothers me is the vertical convergence of the first and third houses. I tried to correct it in PS. What do you think? Mar 3rd
71 Mar 24 Comment Very nice image Nigel. I do see the shadows that Theresa mentioned and could be easily removed. I like your placement of the very sharp Dragon Tree in the middle of the image and the hazy fade off into the distance. Well done. Mar 3rd
71 Mar 24 Comment Michele, this image is absolutely stunning. My only question did you use slight sepia toning and if so I like it. Sometimes waiting and being ready is worth it and this is a prime example. Mar 3rd
71 Mar 24 Reply Theresa, I really like what you did to that void. Much better! I like 95% of the image but I will work more in that area. Thank you. Mar 3rd

97 Mar 24 Comment Roy, outstanding image! Selective focusing and tack sharp image is amazing. Perfect crop. Wouldn't change a thing. Mar 13th
97 Mar 24 Comment Julia, awesome amazing catch! You stoped all the action perfectly. I have shot thousands of images of skinners across the state at Fort DeSoto and have never seen anything like this. My opinion is that the skimmer tried to pickup a way to big fish and it bent his head back as he lost the fish. Wow! Mar 12th
